The Pearl of Siberia (Tyumen) is a regional complex of winter sports, a center for training athletes of the Russian team, athletes, regional and foreign teams. On a walking track, ski lovers with their own equipment can practice for free.
The history of the "Pearls of Siberia"
The Pearl of Siberia (Tyumen), the photo of which is presented in this article, begins its history in 1975. It was then that A.N. Melnikov, a senior trainer in the Tyumen region, studied the elevation differences and the relief of the Butusov Log and the tract of Krasnaya Gorka. It turned out that the area is suitable for creating complex but interesting ski slopes. As a result, they were laid. And in the period from 1976 to 1992, training camps, championships and championships began to be held on the territory.
In 1987, it was supposed to begin the construction of a ski base, but it was temporarily frozen. And the authorities returned to the project only in 2005, on the initiative of S. L. Usoltsev, president of the ski federation in the Tyumen region. In 2006, experts concluded that the area was suitable for competitions, and construction began on the base.
Description of the sports complex
In 2007, construction was completed. And the complex was called the Biathlon Center "Pearl of Siberia" (Tyumen). It has administrative and service buildings. There are team and guest houses and a hotel. The center has a ski and biathlon stadium and tracks. They are equipped with artificial snowmaking and lighting. There is covered parking, landscaped area and a garage for special equipment.
On the territory of the center there is a separate football stadium with sectors and tracks for athletes. The Pearl of Siberia (Tyumen) has an excellent ski slope with lifts. Driveways, cross and imitation circles are laid here. There is a reservoir reservoir, summer gymnastic towns with canopies. Also in the center there is a large video screen, information board and a separate area for the media. It includes commentary booths, a radio center, a director’s room, etc.
