The capital of the Republic of Tatarstan has many attractions. One of them is Uritsky Park. Kazan is rightfully proud of it. The park area is one of the largest, well-groomed and beloved by the townspeople places of recreation and entertainment.
Description of the park
This wonderful corner of the city occupies almost 50 hectares. The territory is very green, there are many deciduous shrubs and trees, some of which are more than a hundred years old. Directly opposite the entrance is a memorial complex created in honor of the victory in the Great Patriotic War, and a cozy cafe "Vesna" is located nearby.
The Moskovsky Center, which deals with issues of culture and sports, is located on the right side of the park. In its center - the "blue eye" - as residents of the city call a small natural park lake. The pond is very picturesque, a fish is found in it, a lot of gray ducks float on the mirror surface, which vacationers like to feed. And in the days of festivities, carps were launched several times in the lake.
A long and wide canal departs from the lake, decorated with three arched bridges with openwork railings. Uritsky Park (Kazan) is one of the newlyweds' favorite places. It is on the bridges that the newlyweds snap locks, symbolizing love and fidelity, and the keys to them are stoked in the canal, promising to be parted only when they get the key from the bottom of the reservoir.
Not only adults, but also children love Uritsky Park (Kazan). It has a good playground with swings and slides, surrounded by centuries-old trees that give a cool shade and protect the kids from the heat on hot summer days.
Athletes also chose this place, where there are modern rubberized tracks for jogging and cycling, a tennis court, a football field, a sports ground with gymnastic apparatus.

How to get there

You can get to this green corner by public transport: take tram number 9 or 13 to the Gagarina stop. Trolleybuses number 1 or 13, buses number 97, 89, 78, 76, 62, 53, 52, 43, 37, 33, 29, 28, 20, as well as 6 and 18 go to the same stop. You can take the metro to the station "North Station" or "Moskovskaya".
From other areas of the city, trolleybuses 4, 10, as well as buses 49, 47, 46, 45, 44, 36 and 17 go to the park. If you go by the indicated routes, then you need to get off at the Razvezd Razstoy stop.
The easiest way to get to the park named after Uritsky (Kazan) is by car. You need to park in a special parking lot from the side of Academician Korolev Street near the former House of Culture (modern "Moscow Center").
Reconstruction
In 2005, the city administration initiated the reconstruction of Uritsky Park (Kazan), during which walking paths were restored, young trees were planted.
Another reconstruction, but larger, is planned for the near future. The project was agreed with the residents of the city. Controversial issues were discussed on July 16, 2015 at a conference in the Palace of Culture. The meeting was attended by Igor Kulyazhev - chairman of the Kazan Committee for External Improvement, Damir Fattakhov - head of the Moscow and Kirov districts of the city, Natalya Fishman - assistant to the president of Tatarstan, specialist in squares and parks, 200 citizens.
A presentation of the planned reconstruction was shown. The author of the project was a group of young talented designers. The main changes that are planned to be made to the park’s design are the new embankment, the new cycling ring with a modern coating, the transformation of the spontaneous football field in the western part of the park into a full-fledged sports ground, and the renewal of the tennis court. Residents were promised that the oldest part of the park with 150-year-old pines will be preserved in its original form. Citizens advocated regular cleaning of the lake, which began to bloom.
The initiative group proposed building a children's cafe in the park, restoring a children's movie theater in the form of an airplane, organizing a place for walking four-legged friends, and creating an Aviator Square. All of these issues are under approval.
Park reviews
In general, the Uritsky park in Kazan is very fond of locals. Guests of the city also praise it, noting a large number of green spaces, cleanliness, grooming, and convenience for visitors. However, many are unhappy with the fact that more and more commercial tents and entertainment are appearing in the park. Paid trampolines and carousels are especially outraged by parents, which are expensive, thereby limiting the possibilities of simple family walks in the park.
