In the Russian language there are many words that are not used today or their use is minimized.
Among these words, aunt is the obsolete meaning of the word "father", "father". It has been used since the time of the Rurikovich, i.e., from the 9th century. More often he could be heard from the mouth of a child, this is an affectionate designation, at the roots of which lies the designation of the protector and the head of the family.
Tyat is an unused word
After centuries, in the everyday life of people new things appeared that had their own names. Old items coming out of use were forgotten. Words with foreign roots were transferred to Russian, displacing old obsolete designations.
The origin of the affectionate name of the father, father or father lies in the origins of the Russian language. Among peasants, children often called their fathers the simple word "aunt." The historicist aunt is an obsolete word that is not used today. Among the forgotten definitions are the following: hryvnia - jewelry on the neck, brush - dish (food), business card - men's clothing, a prototype of a modern jacket, the name of which came from the fact that the thing was put on a visit.
Origin of the word
Alexander Sergeyevich Pushkin made a huge contribution to the expansion of the linguistics of Russian speech. He is attributed the merit of introducing into the speech the words of French origin "papa". In Russian, emphasis is placed on the first syllable. Instead of an aunt, tato, dad or literary "father", the word "papa" began to be actively used. And the old designation has ceased to be used.
In etymological dictionaries, one can find assumptions of the origin of the word "aunt". It is explained as invented by children to designate their father, by virtue of not delivered speech. That is, baby talk has designated the parent as an aunt.
There are also theories of descent from the Turkic language, Hittite, Greek or Serbian. In each of which there is a word with the same meaning and very close pronunciation.
Volcano on the Kuril Islands
The origin of the name of the volcano, located on the territory of the Kuril reserve, comes from the indigenous inhabitants of this territory. The Ainu called him Father Mountain, the Japanese named him Tyatya-Dake, hence the Russian name Tyatya, that is, father, dad.
It is the most active of the Kuril ridge volcanoes. Its activity is weak today, mainly smoke emission from the side crater is observed. The largest eruption was recorded in 1973, it entailed a series of fires. A similar phenomenon was in 1812.
