The selection of candidates is carried out in two stages, which we consider in more detail.
The first stage of competitive selection
For an objective assessment, at least two specialists from the CSKA Academy are involved. Tests are conducted in this mode:
- Gymnastic exercises (warm-up). At this stage, the development of the applicant’s flexibility, agility and coordination is checked.
- Game test 15x15, or "magpies-crows." Chips are placed on the corners and sides of the game square in an amount exceeding the number of participants by 4. The “forty” team is placed behind the square, and the “crows” are inside it. "Magpies" must guard the chips, not allowing their opponents to steal, while not going into the square and trying to grease other players approaching the chips. Ravens must pick up the chips without leaving the square. Stolen items stack in the center of the square. The “Magpie”, which the “raven” greeded out of the game, just like their opponent, who stepped into the square. The team that collects the most chips in the allotted time wins. Teams are divided into 5-6 players, the process monitors the speed of reaction, agility, game thinking.
- Simplified handball. The next test at the CSKA Academy is held on a site measuring 20x15 meters. Teams of 5-6 people play handball goal. At the same time, it is forbidden to take more than 5 steps with the ball, be rude and carry out painful tricks and captures. Here, experts observe gaming aggressiveness, speed, team thinking and dexterity.
- Mini football. Two teams of 5-6 people play futsal. The same qualities are evaluated as in the previous test.
- Three / quarter lap race around the stadium. Volitional indicators are tracked, which are summarized with the points of the passed tests.

Assessment after the first stage
After passing the first test at the CSKA Football Academy, the possibility of enrolling applicants is considered, taking into account all the tasks completed. The number of children accepted should slightly exceed the permissible norm. Then, interviews and questionnaires are conducted with young athletes.
Assessment of tasks is carried out on the principle of "+" or "-". The first value is applicable to children who show good abilities or level shortcomings through other achievements. Minus means lack of initiative, a weak manifestation of will and physical qualities.
The main assessed criteria are: game thinking, sports aggressiveness and fighting parameters, strong-willed qualities.
The second stage of the final admission to the football academy of CSKA
At this stage, the student goes through a probationary period, which can last from several months to two years. During this period, the degree of ability of each boy is assessed. The test is carried out at the beginning and at the end of the term.
Recommended Programs:
- Running 30 meters.
- Jump test.
- Dexterity Tests.
- Observation of the development of game thinking.
- Testing sports aggressiveness.
Based on the observations of the coach of the CSKA football academy and the test results, an assessment is made of the growth of a young athlete and his ability to learn. Then conclusions are made about the further stay of the child in the group. The main tests are selected individually by trainers, taking into account the age characteristics of applicants. The main task is to fix and compare the final and initial indicators.
Infrastructure
On the territory of the CSKA Academy in Moscow, there are two football fields equipped with artificial modern coating. Natural lawn for children is present at the stadium "October". In addition, the school’s infrastructure includes a fitness center, a games room for training in winter, a medical rehabilitation complex, and a swimming pool. In winter, classes are also held in the arena of LFK "army".
For non-resident students, a boarding school works. About 50 young athletes from various regions of the country live in it. Medical observation and examination of pupils is carried out by leading clinics of the capital, whose specialists serve the first and youth team.
To summarize
The fact that talents in any field of activity related to a person are born everywhere in almost equal numbers has long been recognized throughout the world. To identify and develop abilities - the creation of appropriate conditions is necessary. The CSKA football school is trying to discover talents in this particular sport. Providing optimal conditions for the development of capable young athletes is the key to a successful future for domestic football.
In parallel with the good organization of classes and the training process, an adequate and proper selection should be made. The imperfection of some methods or the subjective underestimation of the capabilities of young men leads to sad consequences for both the student and the sport. To date, the base of the Academy of PFC CSKA has an excellent material and technical basis, allowing to realize the opportunities at a high professional level.
