At the time of the foundation of the Premier League, defender Sergei Shishkin played in the Fakel team. Many Voronezh and Samara fans he remembered for his performances. Thanks to high dedication and a decent selection technique, the athlete forever inscribed himself in the history of Russian football.
The first steps in the football biography of Sergei Shishkin
Sergey Borisovich Shishkin was born on February 10, 1973 in the city of Yakutsk. At the age of seven, he began playing football in the section of the local Dynamo club. From 1983 to 1990 he played for youth teams, where he played the role of striker. Young Sergey Borisovich stood out from his peers for his efficiency and high speed.
In 1990, Dynamo received the status of a professional club, and Sergei received an offer to participate in the USSR Championship. By that time, the footballer had already been transferred to the defense line and given the fourth game number. There were no goals scored in the first season of the professional career, and the young lateral received little playing time. The second season of Sergei Shishkin began as part of the Russian Championship. In the second division, the young defender was noticed thanks to his speed and good understanding of the game. The next season, the footballer received an offer from CSKA-D and decided to leave his home stadium in order to continue his career.
Career start in the Premier League
Football player Sergey Shishkin got a chance to play in the country's elite division under the leadership of the famous player Pavel Sadyrin. Then the Russian championship was just in its infancy, and the tournament was divided into two groups of 10 teams. 4 winners in their groups were to play the champion title. The first season for CSKA for the defender was successful. Sergei Borisovich was able to hold almost all the games from the first to the last minutes and score two goals. In the first year, CSKA got a chance to win the country's cup, but the final match against Spartak was lost. The fatal mistake of Sergei Shishkin gave the opponent the right to a penalty, which was realized 7 minutes before the end of the match. Play two goals was no longer possible. The second season for CSKA turned out to be even more successful, the defender was already marked with four goals scored.
Invitation to the Wings of the Soviets
After the second season, a real fight unfolded for Sergey Shishkin, and the best offer came from a team from Samara. The main reason for the move was the promise of more gaming practice. “Wings of the Soviets” in those days vied for a place in the top four. For a football player, moving to Samara was beneficial from a career point of view. Football player Sergei Shishkin played for his new club from 1995 to 1999. During this time, 123 matches were played and only 2 goals were scored.
In Samara, a football player first encountered injuries. An ankle fracture was a serious test. Not only was this turning point for the player six months of rehabilitation, in addition, the left foot began to hurt chronically. At that time, the athlete met and played with the future leader of the defense of the national team - Sergei Ignashevich. In this photo, Sergei Shishkin is chasing the forward of Spartak, and Ignashevich is fighting directly.
Uneasy two thousandth
The resulting injury was the catalyst for a decline in his career. The player receives an offer from Uralan from Elista, but there the performance did not work out right away. The defender became less likely to break into the starting lineup, and foot injuries often made themselves felt. In 2001, Sergei Shishkin moved to Fakel from Voronezh, but even there the football player’s career did not give a new round. For two seasons the defender did not differ in goals scored and began to seriously give way in speed to faster strikers.
Football in Russia has changed. Capital clubs received private funding and were able to sign contracts with foreign football players. In conditions of fierce competition, Sergey Shishkin went to play in the second division.
Second Division and Coaching Career
In 2002, the defender signed a contract with the Gazovik-Gazprom team, but was not surprised by anything special there. Sergei Shishkin was already 29 years old, his form continued to deteriorate. In the second division, the footballer spent the rest of his career, but was not able to score a goal anymore. The last goal scored is dated April 25, 1999.
In 2003, Sergei Borisovich moved to Tolyatti, where he played one season for “Lada”. In 2004, the team “Lukoil” appears only for 4 matches. In 2005, the football player transferred to his last team - “Unit” from Samara.

Sergey continued to play for Unit until 2008, then for several years nothing was heard about the athlete. In 2011, the former defender accepts the proposal to head the Dynamo home club. For 4 years, the newly-made coach has made significant progress in the team’s game. From 2011 to 2015, Dynamo regularly held a position in the middle of the standings. Unfortunately, in 2016, a football club from Yakutsk ceased to exist, and the coach had to look for a new job.
The next season, Sergei Borisovich Shishkin began to train Dynamo from Barnaul. To this day, the former defender heads this football club and continues to fight for access to the FNL.
