Fox hunting

The habitat of the fox is great: it is distributed literally in every region of our country, even in the tundra, on the Kuril Islands and Sakhalin. This is due to its increased adaptability to any conditions of existence.

Fox hunting attracts many, perhaps the most popular. There are a lot of ways to get it: it all depends on the imagination and capabilities of the hunter. This can be a horse corral, and fishing with a golden eagle, and luring a mouse squeak, and baiting at a bait, and using flags.

A rare lover does not care about fox hunting, because it is considered one of the most careful and sensitive animals.

If the hunter knows the places of fox lairs, then you can hunt right from the salary. The most probable whereabouts of the beast must be circumvented, following the paths and clearings, i.e. the most open places, so as not to frighten him in advance. To attract a fox, you need to lay out a bait. Usually this is the carcass of a dead animal, which is placed in an open and preferably high place, close to places favorable for the fox - forests, shrubs, etc.

Usually, crows and magpies fly to the barn earlier, which help the beast find the carcass. Hunters have long noticed that the fox is much more willing to go to the bite bited by these birds than to anyone untouched.

Satisfied, the fox, as a rule, remains nearby.

Hunting a fox with a decoy is one of the most common. The most important thing in this type of beast fishing is camouflage and hiding. You can’t lure a frightened fox, it’s important to know that it is going in the direction against the wind, therefore you should always be at its rear, hiding and moving also against the wind. Otherwise, the fox can feel the hunter and not go to the decoy, which, as a rule, imitates the squeak of a mouse.

If fox hunting takes place in a snowy open field, then camouflage should be observed especially carefully: you need a white coat with a hood, white gloves and felt boots.

Fox hunting begins at dawn, while the fox is still feeding. The hunter must carefully inspect the terrain when moving, using binoculars. Having discovered the prey, he determines the direction of its further course and either hides it with the help of a natural shelter, or tries to run ahead and wait for it to approach.

In winter, especially in February, this red-headed predator starts a race. At this time, fox hunting is especially successful. The beast very often walks during the day, and more often met in groups that hunters call a "fox wedding" - three or five individuals.

Having noticed his future victim, the hunter by behavior tries to identify the female among them, then, having dispersed the others, begins to pursue her, driving them to a mile and a half. Then, carefully disguised in the tracks left by the female, he waits for the male to return.

Usually two people prey on a mocking fox, combining surge with approach. One of them tries to run as stealthily as possible along the trail of the red cheat, and the other unobtrusively directs her to his comrade.

Already experienced hunters quite successfully know how to get fox hunting by fresh tracks. According to the characteristic heritages, they determine the victim who has finished feeding and goes to bed. Usually a fox is laid near the trunk of a tree, on a stump, mound or under an uprooted root, and in the field - in bushes, ravines or weeds.

A well-fed beast sleeps soundly enough, and sometimes a hunter manages to get close to him for a close shot.

Hunting a fox with a dog, in particular with a hound, is especially fascinating. Always an even run, especially in the autumn forest, leaves a lasting impression.

In general, fox hunting can be considered a sport, including surveillance, stubborn stalking and killing prey.
