The northern market in Kursk is one of the oldest markets in the city. Middle-aged Kursk people remember it as the place where you could always buy various vegetables and fruits, other products necessary in everyday life. The northern market still offers the same assortment of goods, but now visitors can choose imported food products that are unusual for this geographical strip of Russia.
The history of the Northern market has more than a dozen years. In the 60s, the first rows appeared on the territory of the future market, they consisted of wooden benches. After 20 years, the rows were replaced with metal racks. During perestroika, the market underwent many changes, but remained municipal. Now it represents an area of over 7 thousand square meters, where there is a large modern building.

A distinctive feature of the Northern market is that fairs are often held here. Sellers present their products at big discounts. Fairs are held before Christmas, Easter, September 1, the opening of the horticultural season.
