Before we talk about how to overcome the fear of death, we ask another question. Are there people who are not afraid of death? Most ambulance doctors who often watch the last minutes of dying people say that there are no such people and they will be wrong. There are simply very few of them.
Many may have heard the story of one of the ambulance doctors who came to an elderly priest who was dying of a heart attack. The patient was absolutely calm, unlike the people around him, asking doctors questions about whether they were tired or hungry. He even asked his wife to feed them. He knew that he was dying, that these were the last minutes of his life, but he was more worried about the people who stay here in this world! Amazing
For us, yes. For him, not at all, because he was ready for death. And he perceived it completely differently than most people perceive it.
But how should death be perceived so as not to be afraid of it?
People are divided into atheists and believers. This, of course, is conditional in order to try to answer the questions posed. It is characteristic that advice on how to overcome the fear of death is given to both believers and atheists very similar. All theories (both psychological and spiritual) often suggest thinking about it, not being afraid to talk about it. However, psychologists advise the same with all phobias. We must meet the fear. How to overcome fear of heights, for example, or darkness? Psychologists say: jump with a parachute or sit for several hours in a dark room.
But jumping with a parachute is probably easier than looking into the eyes of death. But many psychics claim that, often thinking about death, we attract it. Naturally, each person instinctively tries to avoid possible conversations and not even think about it. So who is right, and how to overcome the fear of death?
How is it possible, on the one hand, to think about death, to prepare for it so as not to be afraid, and on the other hand not to pull its bony? Can. It is important to approach this calmly, without neurotic fear and pessimism.
But it is imperative to recognize the inevitability of death as the beginning or rebirth of a new life. This, of course, is not about a mortal body, but about a spiritual beginning. If you prepare for death as a transition in time of an imperishable spirit, then life will sparkle with new colors, and death will be afraid to draw near.
After all, death walks next to each of us, it is like a virus: as long as the body is healthy and immunity is in order, the virus will not bother. As long as the soul is healthy, death will not come. But is the soul healthy?
Still, how to overcome the fear of death?
We must try to delve deeply into the idea that man is not only a mortal body, when it collapses, consciousness will remain . This is not a matter of faith or theories of mentality. Each of its cells must feel the reality of this belief. This can be achieved by experiencing deep mystical feelings through meditation, prayer, serious spiritual work.
Only in this case can one truly feel that the body is only the form in which the spirit is located, that consciousness can exist without the body. In other words, you need to train your spirituality, as athletes train muscles.
Only a person who every second tries to wake his mind gently and little by little, gradually moves to its new level.
Then comes the realization of spiritual immortality. Then consciousness can break away from the mortal body and merge with the pure light of the spiritual essence of man. And the question will no longer arise how to overcome the fear of death, because the higher spiritual world becomes available.
Actually, with age, many begin to fear weakness, as well as death, possible loneliness. From the point of view of spirituality, this problem can be solved from the position of a warrior: although it is impossible to defeat old age and death, but you need to resist to the very end. That is, do not whine, do not grumble, do not complain, try as much as possible to maintain good physical shape.
