It is difficult to believe that there are places in the city of Moscow where centuries-old pines grow, and the air seems unusually clean. Does such a statement seem fantastic to you too? Then be sure to take the time and visit Arshinovsky Park, located in the Tsaritsyno area, between Bekhterev and Bakinskaya streets.
How did a summer house turn into a public park?
At the beginning of the 20th century, on the territory of modern Tsaritsyno the "suburban" country houses of wealthy people were actively breaking up. The merchant Vasily Arshinov settled here. Around the house, his son, who had the education of a botanist, decided to set up a beautiful park. It took 20 years to realize this idea. A cascade of ponds was artificially created here and rare plants were planted. There is no trace left of the personal dacha, and today only the name reminds of the merchant family - Arshinovsky Park (in honor of the creator V.V. Arshinov). There were only pine trees planted at that time, and a cascade of ponds. More than one generation of Muscovites has already grown up, the best childhood memories of which are walks in this beautiful recreation area.
Green spaces and the original pond system
The real pride of the park is Korneevsky Ponds: Upper and Lower. They are connected by a pipe, thanks to which, when filling one reservoir, part of the water naturally flows into the neighboring one. Ponds were created artificially along the mouth of the Kotlyakovka River, named after the once existing village of the same name. Today, the river, whose length is about 4 km, is almost completely enclosed in underground reservoirs. And only before the "entrance" to Gorodnya its cascade of ponds fill its waters. Thanks to these reservoirs, Arshinovsky Park seems even more comfortable. You canβt swim in the ponds, however, in the summer, local residents sunbathe on their banks, and fishermen can be seen here year-round. The recreation area boasts rich flora. Mostly coniferous trees grow here, including cedar pine. Of the deciduous plantations, the most interesting are the following: gray alder, black poplar and Siberian larch.
Modern park borders
Today, the green zone is about 12.5 hectares. Since 1987, Arshinovsky Park is a natural monument. Today, on all sides it is surrounded by residential buildings. Residential apartment buildings rise behind the ponds; on the other hand, the recreation area borders the City Clinical Hospital No. 12. There is also the 868th school nearby. Arshinovsky Park is a favorite vacation spot for locals. Many come here every day to walk alone, with children, dogs or entire families. After all, these are absolutely indescribable emotions and a very unusual format of relaxation: living in a big city and not going abroad, you have the opportunity to stroll through the pine "forest" and enjoy the water surface of the lakes.
Landscaping
In 2013, the park became part of the Kuzminsky forest park. Landscaping was carried out in the recreation area before. Ponds were cleaned, their shores strengthened, garbage was removed, paths were cleared. In the recreation area there are children's and sports grounds, as well as an equipped place for dog walking. There is information that very soon lovers of outdoor recreation will be able to see the updated Arshinovsky Park. The reconstruction is planned global, it is possible that very soon there will be cafes, attractions and other entertainments. The main thing, according to local residents, is that any changes do not damage the old trees and the local landscape. Many people like the park in its modern form, perhaps it should be a little landscaped and made more modern. The most important thing is to observe the measure and not to harm wildlife.
Where is Arshinovsky Park located, who will like this recreation area?
The main entrance to the recreation area is located at 26, Bakinskaya Street, building 9. The nearest metro stations are Tsaritsino and Kantemirovskaya. The park operates year-round, however, in winter, not all tracks are timely cleared. Today it is a natural recreation area. Fans of attractions and other entertainment should choose a different place to visit. It makes no sense to include Arshinovsky Park in its excursion program for tourists from other regions. Believe me, in Moscow there are more interesting places for exploring and relaxing. But residents of the surrounding areas will be useful to know that in Tsaritsyno there is such a wonderful recreation area. The park is ideal for walking, sports, family picnics and visits with children. Fishermen will also like it here. According to the reviews of those who regularly fish in local lakes, sometimes a good catch is really caught. Attention: on the territory of the recreation area you can not leave garbage and make bonfires on the ground. Follow these simple rules of conduct and be more attentive to the surrounding nature, and then your grandchildren will also be able to appreciate the beauty of this park.
