How to become a notary

Today, many young people who think about their future profession, pay attention to the activities of notaries, expressing a desire to replenish their ranks. Although it is difficult, it is quite possible.

How to become a notary? It is necessary to remember the main rule - a notary must certainly have the citizenship of the Russian Federation. On the one hand, this is the easiest requirement for an applicant who wants to hold this position.

Excellent study, always at the Faculty of Law, is the second determining factor. A person thinking how to become a notary should be a competent specialist in the field of jurisprudence, and also a broad profile. Candidate education should not be clearly one-sided.

Thirdly, after graduation and leaving the walls of the native university with a diploma, it is necessary to undergo practice at the current notary. You should practice for at least a year, but it becomes a little easier because a notary public can be both private and practicing. And if you have ever worked as a lawyer, then, according to the law, you can easily claim that the Federal Notary Chamber and the Ministry of Justice of the Russian Federation reduce this period for you to six months.

Next, you need to pass a qualification exam. A specially created commission at your university will accept it, and you will have to compete with a huge number of people - several dozen people claim one place. If you do not pass the competition, then the next time you can take exams only after a year, again meeting competitors and numerous competitors.

If, nevertheless, you have fallen into a certain number of excellent pupils, the lucky ones, and successfully passed all the competitive tests, get ready - you have to take the oath and get a license for activity after a month after passing the exams. When thinking about how to become a notary public, remember that if you do not immediately start working within three years of your studies, you will have to pass difficult exams again and again obtain a license.

Why does not even having an official license-permit for activity necessarily mean that you will be hired? Unfortunately for a huge number of applicants, in our country the number of notaries already in positions in each city is constant, while strictly limited by modern law. And you can apply for this position only if the place is vacated for some reason. This happens in one of several cases: a working notary retires, sells his place, or decides to voluntarily leave it for personal reasons, loses his license (this is criminally punishable). Of course, such cases are very rare. But the number of issued licenses is growing day by day.

Why they are issued in such quantities is also understandable. In addition to exams, there are many different contributions (considerable amounts) that each applicant pays. Thus, a notary license is bought and sold. And the notary’s place is extremely profitable - not in vain so many people want to take it. But only one who knows how to become a notary and, moreover, in fact can show his persistence in mastering this profession can get it.

The work of a notary public is as follows:

All actions are carried out in accordance with the law. These include:

  • certification of issued powers of attorney;
  • certification of signature authenticity;
  • certification of copies of various documents or translations, transactions, wills;
  • issuance of a certificate of inheritance rights.

The action of a notary public is recognized as committed only after the client has paid the state fee (or a fixed amount). All tariffs are indicated in the legislation of the Russian Federation. So, you must be persistent in achieving your goal.
