Glue thermogun - a tool that should be in the arsenal of each needlewoman. It can be used for a variety of purposes, so today there are a huge number of different glue guns, rods and accessories to them.
An adhesive thermogun may be needed for decorating various surfaces, for creating floristic compositions, as well as for fixing something for a while.
What are glue guns?
There are two main varieties of glue guns: for rods with a diameter of 7 mm and for rods with a diameter of 11 mm. In most cases, small options work on battery power, do not have wires and are therefore very convenient for decorating something small. Larger pistols are also used for needlework, but more often they are not as convenient as 7 mm. The cost depends on the manufacturer, size, quality and power.
How to choose a good adhesive glue gun for needlework?
When choosing this tool, you should pay attention to a few little things.
- Inspect the check valve. It should be tight enough so that the molten glue does not leak out during operation and does not spoil the gun itself.
- Pay attention to the “window” near the feed part. It should be wide enough so that, if necessary, you can easily grab the rod with your fingers and remove it from the gun.
- Evaluate the power with which the glue thermal gun works. As a rule, two indicators are indicated on the gun: output power and power consumption. So, a low or medium power pistol (for example 15 (40)) is suitable for decoration, but for serious repair work a more powerful option should be purchased.
- If you choose a gun for decorating handicrafts, see if it is possible to use various nozzles, extension cords and other elements that simplify work and save time.

When is the glue gun ready for use? First, insert the shaft into a cold tool and plug it into a power outlet. Next, you need to wait about five minutes and pull the trigger so that glue appears on the nose. The gun is ready! All that is now required of you is to pull the trigger to dispense glue. If you work for a long time, sometimes let the gun rest.
Glue sticks for thermoguns are also different: transparent, white, black, multi-colored. How do they differ and which ones do you need? Transparent rods are considered universal, and are suitable only for bonding. White, black and yellow are specialized, each of them is used for specific purposes. Ecoflo rods are used for decoration.
When one ends, you need to insert another and continue to work. If you suddenly need to change an unused rod to another, plug the glue thermal gun into a power outlet and let it heat up. Grasp it with two fingers, scroll several times around its axis and pull it out of the gun.
When working with this tool, remember the high temperature of the glue, nozzle and the gun itself. Be very careful. Also, do not forget that you can apply glue only on objects that will not give in to a hot effect, since already dried glue can melt and float.
