Football in Armenia is developing without stopping for a minute, and this stage began after the country gained independence status (1991). The governing body is the Football Federation of Armenia, established in 1992. With its help, athletes take part in all types of football competitions.

If we talk about international tournaments, then for the first time the team took part in the qualifying round of Euro 96, but lost in the confrontation with Belgium (2: 0). In 1995, the team won the match against the Macedonians (0: 2) and is now a member of the qualifying rounds of the championships.
The first stellar game of the Armenian team was carried out on 10/14/1992 in Yerevan. She was against the national team of Moldova and ended in zero result. Truly spectacular football in Armenia began with the famous coach Ian Porterfield. He brought good luck in the game in matches with Kazakhstan (2: 1), Poland (1: 0), and Portugal.
The Armenian team marked its best result at Euro 2014. Coach Vardan Minasyan led the players to the winning third place. His athletes scored 22 goals during the championship. Until the very last match, the players had little hope of entering the European Championship 2012, but fate decided everything for them, and in the butt games they no longer took part.
The development of the Armenian football economy
Football in Armenia is developing not only in terms of achieving the best sports results. A lot of money was spent on infrastructure, namely the construction of training facilities and complexes. And it should be noted that progress is being made without the explicit help of UEFA.
From 2007 to 2010, the training complex was under construction, which now serves as a home not only for the national team, but also for those who want to conquer world football.
