Biography
The writer was born and still lives in London. She is married. Together with her beloved, she brings up two daughters and a son. Cats live in their family - Balu and Lilu.
When Cressida Cowell was small, her family left for a desert island, which is located not far from Scotland. On this small piece of land there are no roads, electricity, phones. There, the Cressida family spent at first several weeks. As soon as her father built a small house on the island, acquired a boat, they were able to spend the whole summer there.
Each summer evening on a desert island ended with his father's stories about the Vikings. He said that they lived here 1200 years ago. Viking tribes constantly fought among themselves and united in the fight against dragons. Fire-breathing monsters lived in caves that were located right in the cliffs.
Cressida immediately after school went to university. She studied English for a long time. And after she graduated from college, becoming a graphic designer and illustrator.
Books
The most famous piece written by Cressida Cowell is How to Train Your Dragon. However, this is a whole series, which consists of 12 books. The main character in them is Ikking the Bloodthirsty Karasik III. And the series itself is his memoirs. In them, he talks about his childhood.
In London, Cressida Cowell has long been known. And she became famous all over the world thanks to the film adaptation of her very first book about Icking.
Not all books from the young Viking series have been translated into Russian. But Russian children are looking forward to the new adventures of Icking, his friends and, of course, dragons.
