Confectionery factory "Slavyanka" in Stary Oskol, Belgorod region - a company with a rich history. Founded in the 18th century, it has gone from a small bakery to a large food company. Today, production is part of the Slavyanka confectionery association, which rallied such reputable manufacturers as Volzhanka, CONFI, and the factory named after Krupskaya and others.
From the depths of centuries
The founders of the Slavyanka confectionery factory are considered to be the Dyakov brothers, who, on the lands granted by Peter I, launched the production of lamp oil. A steam engine was purchased for its production in Belgium, but it had excess power. Enterprising merchants realized that some of the excess steam could be used to bake bakery products and earn extra profit.
Dyakovo bagels and kalach are in great demand. To expand the range, an apiary was organized. First-class honey was mixed with hazelnuts and made delicious dishes.
In the XIX century, a full-fledged confectionery workshop was created, which became the prototype of the Slavyanka confectionery factory. He was famous throughout the city for his marmalade, iris, jams, oatmeal cookies, gingerbread cookies, icing, Cancer Neck candies and other sweets.
Time for a change
After the revolution, the future Slavyanka confectionery factory was nationalized by the new government, but they did not show proper attention to the enterprise. Production was stopped, equipment was partially lost. Only in 1930, the regional administration realized it and ordered to restore the company.
Fortunately, the steam engine and a huge boiler that did not have time to steal due to their large size survived. The start-up of the updated factory took place on November 7, 1932 - this day is considered the birth date of the enterprise. The main products were halva, caramel and gingerbread of various varieties.
Test time
During the war, production facilities were partially destroyed. However, as soon as German troops left the city, the population (mainly women) set about restoring the baking industry. A few months later, starving residents were able to eat freshly baked bread.
By the way, while bakers worked in some rooms, the front hospital was located in others. He acted until 1943. Only in 1944, the production of sweets was established, and of course, they were the famous branded gingerbread.
Peacetime overhead
1950s - the “golden time” of the Slavyanka confectionery factory. After the war, the enterprise was seriously modernized. There were candy wrappers, a lipstick station, the Golden Key toffee production line, a pelletizing boiler, a cookie-making machine, and a dough mixer.
By the mid-1960s, with the growth of abundance on the shelves, the demand for the products of the old-Oskol residents declined. It got to the point that the management had to stop the production of cookies and gingerbread cookies, which have been the visiting card of manufacturers since the time of the imperial empire. The solution was obvious - to offer the population new sweets, but in beautiful packaging. By 1970, instead of several dozen product names, Slavyanka was already producing 150 types of products. Particular attention was paid to the development of an interesting design for wrappers and gift boxes.
However, by the 1980s, the resource of 30-year-old equipment was exhausted. A systematic thorough reconstruction of the factory began. To accommodate new workshops, the area of the enterprise was increased. By 1990, its own substation was built, five artesian wells were drilled, a large reservoir for molasses was installed, a production and household building with new equipment was built, the infrastructure was updated, natural gas was supplied, and a water tower was erected. After modernization, the total capacity of the factory reached 15,000 tons annually.
New stage
The fall of the Soviet Union, although it was a blow to the old economic ties, but also allowed us to turn to world experience. In the 2000s, management found reserves for the development of the company. European lines and equipment were purchased, which allowed to increase productivity and quality, significantly expand the range.
The important issue remains the education of an initiative and responsible workforce. The personnel department of the Slavyanka confectionery factory periodically recruits specialists for vacant positions. Most often, the specialties of a baker, a confectioner, a technologist, a fitter for the repair of basic equipment are in demand. Graduates of specialized educational institutions are willingly hired.
