Player Biography
Vladimir Gabulov was born on October 19, 1983. Place of birth - the small town of Mozdok, located in Ossetia. Vladimir began to show interest in football as a child. With his father he often attended matches, and on TV he watched all the programs related to football. The desire to act as a goalkeeper came at about the same time.
Soon, Vladimir entered the local sports school, where he continued his lesson under the leadership of Sergei Dzhanaev. The first club that invited Gabulov was Mozdok, which played in the second league. The footballer was in this team for two years, having played thirty-three matches.
An excellent goalkeeper game attracted the attention of Gazaev, who was then a mentor at Dynamo Moscow. It was he who called Gabulov to the club. For the first time as part of this team, Vladimir came out in March against Wings of the Soviets. Vladimir Gabulov spent about a season in a Moscow club . He left the club after the departure of Valery Gazaev.
The next club for the promising goalkeeper was “Alania”. In the team from Vladikavkaz, the goalkeeper quickly entrenched in the base. In “Alania” Gabulov played until 2003.
Transition to CSKA
In 2003, Valery Gazaev took the place of the main coach of the capital's club and decided to invite goalkeeper Gabulov to the position. Vladimir had to speak only for the second team. The reason for this was the competition for goalkeeper positions. Young Igor Akinfeev was able to firmly gain a foothold in the composition and put even Mandrykin on the bench. In the first two years spent at CSKA Moscow, Vladimir did not play a single game for the main team. The first exit took place only in 2006.
For the three seasons that Gabulov spent in the Moscow team, he could not gain a foothold in the composition. During this time, he spent 52 matches in the double and 3 at the base.
Transfer to Kuban and rent in Amkar
In 2007, the player was sold to the Krasnodar “Kuban”. The footballer instantly became the main goalkeeper, leaving subsequently in almost every match. According to the results of the season, “Kuban” was in the relegation zone and went to the second division.
During the period of transfers, in order not to lose the game practice, the player went to Perm “Amkar”. Together with Perm, Vladimir Gabulov managed to reach the final of the Cup of Russia, where he met with CSKA. “Amkar” was able to score twice, but could not maintain the result, and, bringing the game to a series of penalties, lost. In the championship of Russia Gabulov played ten matches.
The second transfer to Dynamo
In the summer of 2008, Gabulov made the second transition to the Moscow club. The agreement with the player was calculated until 2011. In the first season, Gabulov appeared twelve times, taking with Dynamo the third place in the championship.
The 2009 season turned out to be very successful for the goalkeeper. On the field, he held twenty-three meetings. In September of the same year, in a game with Spartak, Vladimir Gabulov received a serious injury - a fracture of the facial skeleton. The consequence was rehabilitation for a period of almost two months.
In autumn 2010, Shunin was able to oust Gabulov from the main squad, and after the ankle damage (a match with the Baltic), Vladimir was completely out of action.
Anji and the return to Dynamo
In late August 2011, Gabulov signed a contract with a club from Makhachkala. At that time, Anji received huge finances, so Vladimir’s salary was about 2.5 million euros. In the same year, Igor Akinfeev was injured, and the coach of the Makhachkala team decided to help the “army team”, giving Gabulov a lease for half a season.
During this period, the goalkeeper appeared in the camp “CSKA” seven times in the championship of Russia and six in the Champions League. At the same time, speaking well, the footballer helped the team reach 1/8 Champions League.
The first match for “Anji” Gabulov played in March 2012. He stayed in the team until the summer of 2013, simultaneously taking the bronze medals of the Russian championship. In August, Dynamo signed a contract with the goalkeeper for the third time.
Today at the gates of the Moscow club Gabulov appears in almost every match. The footballer came out in eighteen this season and spent four dry games.
