Patience and labor will grind everything - this is how you can characterize the sports path of Irina Tarasova. Shot put requires an explosive force and good coordination from the athlete. And also great willpower. From training to training, from victory to victory.
The beginning of a sports career
Irina began Tarasova’s sports career in Kovrov in the Degtyarev Sports Club (SKID). Irina speaks warmly about her first coach, Alexander Baranov. He reads a lot, learns new techniques. The efforts of the coach were not lost in vain, over time, the hobby turned into a favorite pastime. The athlete recalls that in her hometown they sometimes trained in terrible conditions. When she was 12 years old, their section was expelled from SKID, the coach was fired. The conditions were terrible, but they did not give up training - they practiced on the street.
Over time, the conflict was resolved, athletes were allowed back to SKID. If this did not happen, who knows, there would be enough strength and patience to continue training or not, the athlete recalls. The coach always supported, advised, helped to reveal even greater potential and achieve better results. He was able to accurately guess the character traits of his students and select a training program for each student separately.
The athlete says that if it were not for Alexander Baranov, there would be no Olympics, there would be no Irina Tarasova. He has other students who have achieved remarkable results - Yana Borodina, Natalya Kutyakova.
In 2005, there were no suitable conditions for her training in Kovrov, so Irina Tarasova left. Now Irina is a master of sports of international class. Trained in Moscow under the guidance of the honored trainer of Russia Morgachev Viktor Nikolaevich. She has been playing for CSKA since 2010.
How are the workouts
The athlete says that in training you have to jump and run a lot. Strength exercises occupy a special place. Irina says that she is shaking a barbell weighing 180 kg. Sometimes, it happens, and you cry - it's so hard. Many men have never dreamed of this, the sportswoman jokes. Before serious competitions and training it is much more difficult, it is necessary to mint equipment. It happens that in 2 weeks of such training it takes up to 15 kg of weight.
Many athletes, starting to work with a new projectile without good preparation, are lost and can not cope with an increase in core mass. Some stop classes, someone stops at a certain level of throws. Perhaps this is one of the reasons why Irina chose this particular sport - there are practically no competitors. Another reason is the fascination with the now fashionable thinness and harmony. Irina says she strongly disagrees with this. After all, you can remain beautiful and feminine with powerful muscles.
The will to win
In 2013, athlete Tarasova Irina won the Universiade gold in Kazan and showed the best result, throwing the core at 18.75 m. According to the athlete herself, she is satisfied with the result - this is a worthy result for the Universiade. The goal of Irina was to become a three-time champion, and she succeeded. The athlete says that the victory was hard for her, because there were health problems - an elbow injury. But despite the injury, she managed. She noted that she could get to the World Cup, although there will be strong rivalry.
In 2015, Tarasova Irina was the winner of the Russian Championship in shot put. In the sixth attempt, she showed the best result of the season - 18.01 m. Irina notes that she had good feelings before the final. She was sure that she could significantly add her result compared to qualifications. “In the final, I made small technical errors,” the athlete admits, “although she was sure that she had eradicated them during training.” She is pleased with the result, as she was able to confirm her status as the country's strongest athlete.
In 2013, having won gold at the Universiade, in an interview with Tarasova, Irina Ivanovna said that she had achieved success thanks to the support of two people - her husband and coach.
