Rechitsa Hardware Plant OJSC is the largest fastener manufacturer in Belarus. It produces over a thousand names of products for various purposes. Since 2006, the plant has been a structural subdivision of the Belarusian Metallurgical Company holding.
Historical reference
RMZ was founded by the Rikk brothers in 1911. Initially, it was a small workshop for the production of wire and nails, but within a year the enterprise expanded threefold. Three dozen workers produced more than 30 pounds of nails per day.
After the revolution, the plant was nationalized, but the production profile remained the same. In Soviet times, the Rechitsa Hardware Plant was considered a “prosperous” enterprise with a stable sales market. But after the collapse of the USSR, production output actually stopped. Only after the arrival in 1999 of a talented leader Adam Vashkov, RMZ gained a second wind.

Product quality
Rechitsa Hardware Plant produces high-quality products. They are happy to purchase them in Belarus, Russia, in the near and far abroad. In 2000, a quality management system was implemented at the enterprise in accordance with generally accepted international standards. It covers both the manufacturing and marketing sectors. Among the entire range of products, over 90% are certified. First of all, this applies to the most popular items: nails, fasteners, wire and others.
Repeatedly, the Rechitsa Hardware Plant became a laureate in the industry competitions “Best Products of Belarus”, “Best Products on the Russian Market”. Twice the company was awarded the Government of the Republic of Belarus prize for the production of competitive products and the introduction of innovative quality management methods. RMZ was three times rewarded with a prize of the Ministry of Industry of the Republic of Belarus.
Foreign partners also liked the plant’s products. In 2011, RMZ entered the finals of the tournament "Large Enterprises", which evaluated the production of Eastern and Central Europe. In the same year he became a member of the European Club of Quality Leaders.
Export
Rechitsa hardware plant feels confident in the world market of fasteners. The projected export level is 50,000 tons annually. The share of products shipped abroad ranges from 85-90% of the total industrial production.
The plant controls almost half of the metal products market in the Czech Republic, France - 20%, Germany - 18%, Italy - 12%. The demand for products allows us to confidently maintain a positive trade balance. In 2011, RMZ was recognized as the best exporter of Belarus. Over the current decade, the company has 10 times increased production of hardware products.
Investment and Innovation
Rechitsa hardware plant regularly introduces innovative technologies. Five years ago, the Hot Dip Galvanizing Workshop was launched . In it, large-sized metal structures and pipes are applied with an ultra-resistant layer of anticorrosion coating. Protection allows products to last 100 years without rust.
Today, the task of replacing outdated equipment in the fasteners workshop is being addressed. Installed more productive and less energy-intensive machines and units. They allow you to save significant money and start producing new types of products. Reorganization and retooling await nail production. The production of nails will reach 4000 tons per month.
The modernization project for galvanic production involves increasing the capacity for galvanizing fasteners using the electrolytic method. Factory workers hope to produce about 800 tons of corrosion-resistant hardware per month.
RMZ seeks to minimize the import component in the production process, which is already low - about 7%. In particular, instead of packaging from the Czech Republic, the purchase of packaging of Belarusian production has begun.
Considering that the domestic needs of the republic cover no more than 10-15% of manufactured hardware, the company is looking for opportunities to expand the geography of supplies. RMZ products are purchased in Germany, Benelux, France, Italy, Moldova, Austria, the Czech Republic, Poland and other countries. Significant sales volume falls on the EAEU partners - Russia and Kazakhstan. Currently Rechitsa hardware is the largest specialized plant in Europe.
