Passive Voice: answer exercises, table

English is wide and multifaceted, but when it comes to grammar, many fall into a stupor. How to understand this variety of times? How to remember, when they are used, the grammatical structures of each of them?

In fact, it is not so difficult. All that is required is a systematic and competent approach.

Active and passive liens

First you need to remember that in English there are twelve active voice (Active Voice) and eight passive (Passive Voice). This article presents a table, Passive Voice exercises with answers, and the rule itself.

When to use Passive Voice

The passive voice in English, as well as the passive voice in Russian, is used when the action is performed not by the subject himself, but by someone from outside. For example, the dishes were washed. Utensils in this case do not perform an action on its own, it happens on it. Hence the verb in the passive (passive) voice - was washed. Everything is simple.

Passive and active voice

It is worth remembering that not all times of active voice are used in passive. For a better understanding, we turn to the pivot table. All times of the passive voice are constructed according to the same scheme: the verb to be (in the correct form) + the verb in 3 form.

Letโ€™s explain. This means that only the verb to be will change in tenses. To better understand the rule, you need to study the table, as well as work out the exercises with Passive Voice answers, which are presented in this article below.
