It is interesting that many member states voted against the construction of the building in New York and offered their options for the central office. For example, Canada wanted to place its headquarters in Ontario, on the island of Navi, near Niagara Falls. Many voted for this proposal, since the place was located on the border of the two countries, but in the end, New York was chosen.
