To begin with, we’ll look at how you could become a victim of scammers who obtained data to enter your profile on a social network. So, there are several ways to hack. The most popular are the crude method, phishing attack, and fake. In addition to these methods, there are a thousand less popular ones in the world, but we cannot stop at all.
A rough hacking of the page is a banal selection to your login. This method requires special skills, and therefore is not used as often as others. It consists in the fact that the attackers calculate your email address at which you enter the social network and try to pick up a code word for it. Manually doing this is very problematic, so there are many programs that deal with the automatic selection of characters for your password. The only way to protect against such a hack is a large and complex password. Try to use the numbers of different registry, letters that do not form any logical sequence, as well as characters, if any, the system skips.
Phishing is a more sophisticated method, because it means receiving data from your page from you. How do attackers manage this ? Here is the most popular scheme. You receive an e-mail with a request to follow the link to the social network. By clicking on the address bar, you go to a phishing site whose address is as close as possible to the address of a real social network, so it’s hard to notice the spoofing right away. Once on the login page, which is a clone of the one that you use to activate your own account, you enter your email address and password, which is recorded in the registry with the attackers. Unsuspecting you, you continue your work until the administration blocks your page due to hacking.
Fake is probably the most common way. You will receive an e-mail with a notification that your friend has left a message on your wall. After that, clicking on the link, you get to an unknown site. Consider your page already hacked.
It doesn’t matter which social network you prefer, the recommendation that protects against such an incident is only one: do not click on strange links in emails so that you do not have a hacked page on the social network. By the way, so that such incidents do not bother you once again, you can turn off the notification function (constant notifications sent to the "soap", which contain information about your actions on the site). So you will not once again “puzzle” over what kind of mysterious letter has come to you.
Free social. Networks are very popular, but also very dangerous at the same time, since you can lose important data for you due to hacking by intruders. Indeed, often many photographs and documents are contained only in the history of correspondence with another. And, perhaps, the messages themselves are of great value to you. So what to do if you have a page hacked?
First of all, do not despair. If you notice signs of hacking, but your account has not yet been blocked, immediately change the password. If the page has already been hacked and it has been blocked by the administration, you can restore access to it using the mobile phone number to which it was linked. But if for some reason this procedure cannot be carried out, you will have to fill out a special questionnaire in which you will indicate the reason for the denial of access when entering your profile on a social network. If you indicate “Hacked the page” for the reason, in order to restore the entry you will need to provide your passport details and a photo that will show you and the application form to be filled out. After that, the administration will check your request and restore access.
