Edgar Manucharyan is, one might say, the real star of Armenia. One of the most popular football players of this country. He has an interesting biography and a pretty impressive career. Now Edgar Manucharyan is a footballer playing for the Urals in Yekaterinburg. Well, it is worth telling more about his successes and achievements.
Carier start
Edgar Manucharyan was born in 1987 in the city of Yerevan, the capital of Armenia. His football activity began in a club called “Pinyuk”. At 17, he was recognized as the team's top scorer. This was a great achievement at that time, for which the young footballer was sent to the youth team of Armenia, where he began to practice more and more fruitfully. This was the beginning of a successful career. No one could have thought that very soon a promising young man would go far abroad - to play for one of the most famous European clubs.
The emergence of prospects
At the end of 2004, in December, Edgar Manucharyan went to the most famous club in the Netherlands - to the Ajax Amsterdam. Moreover, then he even entered the field as part of the team. And it was not just some kind of training game, but a match against the Catalan “Barcelona”! It took place on December 14th. Then on the field Edgar Manucharyan spent only 14 minutes. It was a bad day for him, as the player suffered a severe leg injury during the game. The player was taken off the field. After a medical examination, it turned out that he received a serious fracture of the metatarsal bone. The injury touched his right leg. On the same day, December 14th, the Football Federation of Armenia announced that Edgar Vagrikovich Manucharyan was the best football player in the country in 2004. This was confirmed by a survey conducted among journalists. Then even as if Armenian football had reached a new level.
Further developments
Of course, Ajax decided not to sign the contract on the same day and in the near future either. However, they also did not refuse the idea of inviting a promising footballer from Armenia to their team. So after he got better (namely, July 1, 2005), the Dutch club signed a contract with a striker for three years. “Ajax” bought a football player for just one hundred thousand dollars.
Already on September 18 of the same year, the striker made his debut for his new team. It was a match against FC Alkmar Zanstrek. In that game, Edgar entered the field at the very end - at 84 minutes. He replaced another striker. It was Ryan Babel. Unfortunately, in that game, “Ajax” lost to his sworn opponent with a score of 2: 4. During that season, Manucharyan played only four matches, but, nevertheless, together with the club he won the Netherlands Cup.
The next season, the striker also rarely hit the base, but at least on the field he could be seen more often. Unfortunately, injuries continued to haunt a promising player. And because of this, he had to play for the Ajax youth team.
Success
Finally, on November 2, 2006, Edgar managed to score his first goal for the Amsterdam club. This happened as part of the 2006/07 UEFA Cup match. Then, “Ajax” opposed the Vienna club “Austria”. Manucharyan appeared on the field in the second half, at the 57th minute, and already at the 65th he sent the ball into the opponents' goal. Thus, the player increased the score to 3: 0. And it was a great home win.
On July 22, the striker participated in a friendly game against the London “Arsenal”. The match was held at the new stadium, and it was a farewell game for Dennis Bergkamp, who was a former player of both one and the second club. Then Edgar made a good assist in Huntelar. This was the first goal in the history of the new Emirates stadium.
In 2007, the footballer signed a new contract with Ajax - this time until 2011. True, everything went wrong as planned, so in 2009 Edgar was already playing for “Harlem”. The club rented it from Ajax for one year. But as soon as the “Harlem" went bankrupt, six players rented from Amsterdans returned to their home squad. But Edgar did not stay there long - already on February 3, 2010, he began to play for FC “AGOVV”. And in the first game, he scored a goal, which ensured his new team a minimum guest victory. And in the game against “Excelsior” the striker did manage to issue a hat-trick. And this, it is worth noting, a week after the very victory in the match with “AGOVV”.
Return to Armenian football
In 2010, Manucharyan returned to FC Pinyuk, independently terminating the contract with Ajax, who constantly leased his football player. In his native club, he played for six months, and in the middle of the next, 2011 year, he was rented again. This time - Yekaterinburg “Ural”. But, fortunately, the striker, it was decided to turn the lease into a long-term contract. It was originally planned to sign it for two years, but everything turned out more successfully. So from July 17, 2012, Edgar Manucharyan is the official forward of FC “Ural”. With this club, the football player became the winner of the FNL Championship in the 2012/13 season, as well as the holder of the FNL Cup directly (in the same years).
