Many residents of the country have never thought about what stadiums in Russia are. From broadcasts of a football match or other sporting and cultural events, the time for displaying the external beauties and the scale of the sports arena is extremely short. Only a relatively small number of people attend such events personally and can boast of their acquaintance with these beautiful architectural structures.
Olympic Fisht
All Russians perfectly remember the pride of the country and the handsome man - the central stadium of the Sochi 2014 Olympic Games with the original name “Fisht”. Few Russian, and world sports arenas can compete in this aesthetics and engineering level with this hero of the Russian Olympics.
The object received its name in honor of the mountain peak of the Main Caucasian Range. The stadium and outwardly resembles its eponymous natural counterpart. Fisht also has other interesting features: a translucent roof and a special arrangement of spectator seats, so that fans could see the sea in the south and mountains in the north.
Football stadiums
The most striking and famous in the country are the capital’s and recently built sports facilities for the Sochi Olympics. The unchanging leaders in the popularity rating among domestic fans have long been the Russian football stadiums. A considerable part of the lives of hundreds of thousands of fans of various sports teams is taking place here. This is still the most popular sport in a huge country. After all, there is always a ball and a pair of gates that instill a love of football for many boys in the yards of even the most provincial city.
Many of the football facilities are actually multifunctional. It is known that for holding cultural events, such as the opening of any sports days or a music concert, there is no better place to find the number of spectators who have come and the quality of the review of what is happening. Most often, Russian stadiums that meet the requirements for serious sporting events are designated football and part-arenas for athletics competitions.
Like sports teams, stadiums can have their fans. Not every favorite sports venue plays someone’s favorite team, and not something is connected with each of them that makes you feel a special thrill when you are in the stands of your favorite venue.
Stadiums for the World Cup
To hold such a large-scale tournament as the World Cup, considerable investments and the fulfillment of the mass of conditions of the International Football Federation FIFA from the host country of the championship are required. Are Russian stadiums ready in all respects to meet such requirements? And most importantly, will the places for the main action be ready. Also, fans and fans to attend a mass event of this level are interested in the location of the arenas for the upcoming championship.
The cities and regions hosting the tournament matches are divided into clusters. It is in them that they will build, perhaps, the largest stadiums in Russia for holding football matches of the long-awaited derby. The following clusters and host cities of the 2018 Championship are distinguished:
- The central (metropolitan) cluster, namely Moscow and the Moscow region.
- Northern (more precisely, north-western) cluster: Peter and Kaliningrad.
- Ekaterinburg as a separate representative of the Urals.
- Rostov-on-Don together with Sochi and Krasnodar will make up the Southern cluster.
- The Volga cluster, consisting of such football-rich cities of the Volga Federal District as Samara and Nizhny Novgorod, Kazan and Volgograd, Saransk, as well as Yaroslavl.
It would seem that only in the capital of Russia can you find such a worthy sports facility that would not even have to be redone for the world championship. But no stadium, as it turned out, does not meet such requirements. Even one of the most famous Russian stadiums - the Luzhniki Arena will be significantly converted. To achieve the conditions indicated by FIFA, she lacks the number of seats. It is this sports facility that was honored to host the opening match, 1/2 finals and the final spectacle match called the 2018 World Cup.
In addition to Luzhniki Stadiums Spartak, Dynamo and one more in the Moscow Region will be seriously modernized. One of the most expensive stadiums, improved or built from scratch for the upcoming championship, will be Gazprom Arena in the Northern capital. Almost twice as expensive stadium, in comparison with the rest, will be able to receive up to 67,000 spectators and protect them from bad weather due to the sliding roof.
Russian experience in the construction of stadiums
Russia has already proved that it is capable of constructing modern and impressive sports facilities from scratch in a fairly short time, along with communications and transport infrastructure where no one could imagine anything like that. The Olympics in Sochi showed what stadiums in Russia can be. After the Olympic Games, many functional arenas remained, from which new builders should take an example to follow. Projects of facilities under construction are replete with the Internet. But still, the new stadiums in Russia, whose photos and videos are publicly available, I would like to see as soon as possible live. This is a wonderful sight, and the whole country is looking forward to the upcoming sports festival.
Luzhniki
The stadium began its work in 1956. It is one of the largest sports facilities in the world. The large arena includes a football field, 8-lane running tracks (400-meter circular and 100-meter straight), a shot put site and 10 places for athletics jumping. The stadium is also unique in its kind and the visor above the seats. It is striking in its size and complexity of engineering.
In 2013, the sports facility was closed for reconstruction. In 2018, he will be ready to host the World Cup.
