Our century can rightfully call itself the "age of reporting." Clerical expressions are embedded in spoken language, not to mention official. It is all the more important to know the spelling of such stamps, which, for example, are the expressions "according to the act" or "act". How to spell and pronounce this speech? In the Russian language there are several such controversial phrases, so it is necessary to clarify this point.
We are moving towards a reduction
If we go back 100 years ago, to the time of Russian (non-Soviet) literature, we will be surprised to note the enormous difference between the speech turns adopted at the beginning of the last century and the formulations of our time.
For example, in Leo Tolstoy’s novel “War and Peace,” one can find a complex-composed sentence with 28 simple sentences. Can you afford to make such phrases?
Unfortunately, the times when this was the usual practice of communication are a thing of the past.
In the age of computer technology, another style of speech is in demand - capacious, concise, unemotional, as close as possible to clerical. And even this style has undergone significant changes: the expression "gracious sovereign" was replaced by "dear F. I. O." It would seem that the difference is small, but even a trace of emotional attitude is not left. In connection with the transformation of the Russian language, there is confusion with the use of such forms as “according to the act” or “act”.
Assimilation of spoken language
Along with the simplification of phrases and sentences, clerical cliches penetrate into the spoken and literary language. On the one hand, this is quite convenient: there is a ready-made formula that is used in certain situations, prescribed by vowels and unwritten rules. Due to frequent use, the phrase becomes a stamp and is applied to the place and not very. But if at the beginning of this process the “inconsistencies” were cutting the rumor, then today mass addiction has already formed to them.
In addition, this style is quite convenient for a number of reasons:
- there is no need to clarify something, since the stamp is used in a certain semantic context;
- the logic and accuracy of clericalism excludes ambiguity, which is very useful in terms of the design of some agreements;
- in this case there is no place for the use of non-literary revolutions;
- any inappropriate emotionality is excluded: "nothing personal - only business."
The formula "according to the act (or act)" meets all the stated conditions, since in the context of its scope any unnecessary additions are excluded. In a sentence starting with this phrase, only dry facts and figures are stated - and nothing more.
The opinion of linguists
The opinion of the Russian scholars on this issue, of course, is far from optimistic. In their opinion, there is a "necrosis" of the Russian language. And so it is. However, this process is formed in connection with the development of industry and science, when a quick response to an emergency situation is needed and there is no time to put words into beautiful phrases. So cliches and stamps here came in handy.
However, it is impossible not to note the changes in colloquial speech that “leaked” from the clerical. We are used to "helping" instead of "helping"; we "make an attempt" but do not say "try". And some appeals to the press with words of gratitude resemble clerical reports: "This appeal was written by me with the aim of expressing gratitude to the staff of the clinic for the conscientious performance of their duties ..."
And similar to him: "According to the act (or act) drawn up when visiting those in need, specialists handed gifts to minors on the occasion of the celebration of the New Year." If this is translated into Russian, then adults congratulated the children on the New Year.
About the case beads
Stationery word forms are distinguished by monumental case structures. And this is especially true of the genitive case, which allows you to create large-scale verbal constructions without compromising the meaning of the sentence. For example, the familiar phrase: "In order to improve the quality of service, video surveillance is conducted."
By analogy with these models, a contradiction arose between the formulas “according to the act” or “act”. However, the correct spelling of this phrase involves the question of the dative case “what?”, Since the preposition “according to” is combined only with this case.
Thus, the answer to the question: “According to the act or act - as it is right”, will be in favor of the form of the dative case of the noun, forming a combination with the preposition “according to”. That is, one must write and say “according to the act,” and nothing else.
