David Lafata is an experienced Czech striker who, for most of his time as a professional footballer, played in his homeland. He almost always acts as a classic striker, that is, he plays at the forefront. David Lafata recently celebrated his 35th birthday. Thus, he is one of the oldest players in the Czech Republic.

David Lafata was born on September 18, 1981 in Czechoslovakia, eventually ending up in the Czech half of a disintegrated power. At the age of eight, he enrolled in the football academy of the local small club Oleshnik, where he trained for three years. In 1992, an 11-year-old boy moved to České Budějovice, where he spent seven years playing for youth groups of various age categories. In 1999, David Lafata signed a full agreement with the club. For him, the athlete and began to play in the future.
Club career
David Lafata is a football player who has succeeded more than one club in his career. First, he spent six years in his own club, which in the process was renamed Dynamo. In 2002, he spent a short time on loan at another Czech club - Vysočina, in which he played five matches and scored one goal. For the rest of the time, David entered the field 123 times, scoring 34 goals.
In 2005, he moved to the Greek championship for one season, where he represented the Xanthi club, but there he went on the field only nine times and did not score a single goal, so a year later he returned to the Czech Republic and signed a contract with the Yablonec club. There he worked 31 matches, scored 10 goals and again tried his luck abroad, this time in the Vienna Austria. In this club, he spent 42 matches, scored six goals and won his first trophy - the Austrian Cup.
In the summer of 2008, Lafata returned to Jablonec, for which he subsequently played for four and a half years. During this time, he entered the field 136 times, scoring 81 goals - this was one of the best periods in his career.
But the most successful was yet to come - in the winter of 2012, the forward moved to Prague Sparta, for which he played 124 matches for three and a half years, scoring 84 goals. This season, Lafata has appeared on the field already in fifteen matches and scored four goals.
Team appearances
In the Czech national team, Lafata made his debut in September 2006, at the age of 25, and in his first game against the national team of Wales scored double.
Since then, he has played 40 matches, scored five more goals, and also visited the European Championships 2012 and 2016, where in total he played in three out of six games.
At the moment, his last match for the national team is the fight against Croatia at the 2016 European Championships.
