The bridge of Murom. Cable-stayed bridge in Murom: photo, description

Thanks to these facilities, it was possible to move through rivers and various inaccessible places. There are many different types of bridge designs.

They are an integral attribute of all rivers, but not only. Bridges are thrown over various obstacles - roads, pipelines, mountain gorges and more. With their help, distances are reduced, and moving around them is more comfortable and faster. New bridges, built from modern materials and using the latest technology, look aesthetically pleasing and beautiful.

The Murom bridge passing through the river is among the most beautiful and modern.

A bit about bridge types

There are many types of bridges. The following are distinguished:

  • block - simple in construction structures;
  • truss (used with the length of bridges from 40 to 150 meters);
  • pontoon and floating (their feature is floating spans or supports called pontoons);
  • humpbacked (form - curved up);
  • spacers (in contrast to beam supports, struts act).

It should be noted that the expansion type of bridges is divided into 5 categories:

  • frame (T- or U-shaped) used in the construction of viaducts and overpasses);
  • cable-stayed, similar to a suspension bridge, but the supporting structure here is a cable-stayed truss made of steel ropes (the construction of the Murom bridge is similar);
  • suspended or hanging (supporting structure of flexible elements - chains, cables, ropes);
  • arched, the supporting structure of which is similar to a vault or arch (this type is used in mountainous areas and in cities);
  • Combined combines arched and girder patterns (used in cities over wide rivers).

From the history of the construction of the bridge

The Murom bridge was laid back in the days of the USSR, but began to be actively built only in 2006. Before the appearance of the new bridge on the Oka River, crossing the river was carried out on a pontoon bridge in the summer (now it is used between the settlements Tumbotin and Pavlov), and in winter by ferry. In the most severe winters, crossing was carried out on ice.

The nearest bridge to this place is located in the Nizhny Novgorod region, at a distance of 300 km from Murom. The new bridge was opened in the fall of 2009. The construction has become an important part of the Murom bypass road, providing transit traffic.

Thanks to the bridge, the roads of the Vladimir region were connected with the highways of Mordovia, Bashkiria and Tatarstan, as well as with the roads of the Nizhny Novgorod region (southwest). Direct communication with the capital of Russia was also provided.

The bridge was built across the river. Oku in the region of the city of Murom, Vladimir Region and the city of Navashino (Nizhny Novgorod Region), in addition to these regions, it connects several federal roads on the Arzamas-Murom-Vladimir highway. Construction was conducted by the Russian company Mostotrest.

The length of the bridge is 1400 meters. The canvas is supported by cables mounted on three main supports (each 90 meters high) made of monolithic reinforced concrete. One of them is located in the middle of the river, two - on the banks. The length of each of the two main spans supported by the cable-stayers is 230 meters.

Murom cable-stayed bridge removes flows of transit transport from the central part of the city.

Tourists visit the Murom bridge, and wedding processions come to it to take a memory photo, because it is located in a picturesque place. The bridge offers amazingly beautiful views of the river and its banks.

One feature should be noted. Residents of the surroundings are not only proud of the beauty of the structure, but also call it β€œsinging”. Many noticed that on a windy day the impression was made that the bridge was singing. The secret lies in those very guys, thanks to which the wind plays a quiet melody. It is audible to everyone standing on the bridge.
