Title fight

In the fall of 2011, Maxim Grishin, whose biography is replete with ups and downs in sports, received the right to enter the duel for the time zone of the heavyweight champion of the M-1 organization. His opponent was the American Kenny Garner. The fight went with the advantage of Garner. In the fifth round, the Russian missed a few hard shots and was forced to signal a surrender. Thus, Maxim lost the opportunity to become a temporary champion and lost by technical knockout.

By the way, after this fight both fighters ended up in the hospital, and the loser Maxim was discharged from it even earlier than the victorious American. At the same time, Grishin was diagnosed with concussion. In fairness, it is worth saying that Max in this battle replaced the injured Gugenishvili and flew half the globe in order to fight Garner. Nevertheless, the lack of full training and acclimatization yielded negative results in the form of early lesions.
