Today, loyalty to the club is no longer such an important concept for football players. Therefore, it often happens that they leave their clubs in order to win trophies, earn money and gain fame. There are few players left like Francesco Totti, who has been playing for Roma since 1993. However, now we will talk about the prodigal son - a player who left his club in search of a better place, but eventually returned home. The name of this player is Kevin Kampl.
Leaving Bayer
Kevin Kampl is Slovene by nationality, but he was born in Germany. He began his career in Leverkusen Bayer, where he was considered a rather promising player. In 2010, at the age of 20, he made his debut for the main club, but did not take root, so in the summer of that year he left the club to seek his luck in a less prestigious team, which, however, gave him more opportunities to open up - in Greuther Furth .
Other clubs
Kevin Kampl only played for Furth for six months, after which his talent was again seen by the leadership of his home club, which invited the young player back. For another six months, Kevin fought for his future, but lost this fight, after which he was sold to Osnabruck. There, Kevin Kampl started from scratch and a year later made a breakthrough - once in Aalen, he attracted the attention of the top club of the Austrian championship RB Salzburg, which paid three million euros for the player. Until the winter of 2015, a player played in Austria, after which he was invited by the Dortmund Borussia, one of the strongest clubs in Germany. It is worth noting here that Kevin Kampl is a midfielder, but in Dortmund he was used as a winger, and he did not show his best qualities.
Return to Bayer
In the summer of 2015, for 11 million (that is, having lost one million), Borussia sold the player to his native club, Bayer. And who would have thought that it was there that he would open up and begin to show excellent football, becoming one of the regular base players.
