A technology lesson is one of the favorite subjects for children, because in these classes the children learn to create, sculpt, sew, invent, where mental work is sometimes replaced by very funny things.
But for the teacher, technology is a big responsibility, since any teacher is responsible for the safety of the life and health of children. Therefore, it is necessary to immediately acquaint the wards with safety rules at technology lessons.
Paper work
This type of work is especially common in elementary school. And it should be noted that it was during this period that the teacher should carefully monitor compliance with safety rules in technology lessons, since the children are still small, and first-graders just begin to learn all the basics of school life.
Every lesson needs to be spelled out all these rules so that children remember them firmly. Where to begin? What safety rules for technology lessons when working with paper should be followed by children?
- Do not touch anything. This is the main rule for all activities. To teach children not to take things unnecessarily, until the teacher reports on the need for a particular subject, be it scissors, glue or just a pencil. So the teacher will facilitate his work in the future, and the possibility of accidents will decrease significantly.
- Scissors. This is a sharp object, which means that it can be dangerous to human health and even life. In no case should you use them as a toy, swing them from side to side, point them at a person or yourself, because it can cost you health. Also, you do not need to run with scissors, but you should pass them, holding on to the tip. They must be in the pencil case until their use is needed. When making cuts, do not put your fingers under the path of the scissors.
- Paper. Oddly enough, but it can also be dangerous. Firstly, young children are often cut about its edges, and this is very unpleasant. It is absolutely impossible to taste paper (yes, it happens in the lower grades), because in its manufacture chemicals were used that could harm health.
- Glue. Avoid contact with eyes and mouth, as serious damage can be caused to your health. After using the adhesive, rinse hands thoroughly.
Sewing
Another dangerous activity in which it is necessary to observe safety rules in technology lessons is sewing. Indeed, in addition to the scissors, which have already been said, there is another dangerous object here - the needle.
- You can never leave the needle unattended, always stick it in a special pad.
- When sewing, you must be extremely careful not to prick yourself or your comrades.
- The thread should not be too long, because otherwise the person has to take his hand away from him, the entire length of the thread, and after all, someone can sit next to him.
- If a needle is suddenly lost, a magnet can help you find it. You need to hold them on clothes and floor.
Technology in boys
Particular attention should be paid to safety rules in the technology lesson for boys. Usually, in the 5th grade, children for this lesson are divided by gender. In girls they bring up future housewives, they teach to sew, cook, and from boys they make real men.
For the latter, work takes place in a workshop where there is an abundance of dangerous objects. Therefore, it is extremely important for them to know what can and should be done:
- Keep any tools in such a way that the sharp part is directed "away from you."
- Use tools only as directed and authorized by the teacher.
- If injured, stop working immediately.
- After completing work, remove all inventory into place.

Work with other materials
A technology lesson is not only sewing, working with paper and in the workshop. There are other activities in which it is necessary to know and follow safety rules in technology lessons.
- When working with plasticine, you can’t taste it, try to put it in your ears or nose.
- Safety instructions for girls in technology lessons include knowledge of working in the kitchen. These include working with sharp and cutting objects, which should be used only for their intended purpose and with care; a hot stove that can be burned. The pan with the handle must be turned away from you so as not to turn it over.
- When working with beads or beads, it is worth remembering that they must be in a special box, and not scattered on the desk, you can not put them in your mouth, nose or ears. This can seriously damage your health.
- When knitting, knitting needles cannot be brought close to the face, do not swing them from side to side, do not make sudden movements. If you need to leave, you should remove the work begun in a safe place.
In the 5th grade, the safety rules in the technology lesson will be more extensive, as new activities appear, and therefore new rules. But any student must know the basics in order to prevent an accident.
