Sarapulsky Radio Plant-Holding OJSC is a large enterprise producing radio electronic products for various purposes. Founded in 1900, SRH has come a long way from a telephone and telegraph construction plant to a developer of advanced communications equipment for the army, industry, law enforcement agencies and the Ministry of Emergencies.
Creature
Sarapul Radio Plant has more than a century of history. After the invention of A.S. Popov radio began the rapid development of telegraph and telephone communications. In 1900, a small private production of communications equipment was opened in St. Petersburg for government departments: mail, fire departments, railway stations. With the beginning of World War I, the plant acquired strategic importance, was sequestered and transferred to the military department.
The first five-year plans
In the first months of the civil war, the future Sarapul Radio Plant, the Bolsheviks evacuated away from the main theater of operations - to Moscow. According to eyewitnesses, in the early 20s, the enterprise was a sad sight. Old rusty equipment was housed in dilapidated rooms allocated by the metropolitan authorities. But already 10 years later, in 1931, the plant was awarded the Order of Lenin with the number 10. The main pre-war products were loudspeakers, tube and detector receivers.
Evacuation
On September 3, 1941, a special Council for the evacuation of the Moscow Radio Plant was created. It was decided to only partially evacuate the plant to the city of Sarapul in the Udmurt Autonomous Soviet Socialist Republic and to evacuate 1,200 workers, engineers and their families from Moscow. The plant in Sarapul was assigned the number 631.
Assembly shops were placed in an old beautiful building of the radio college. Large rooms were converted into a long line for the assembly of military radio stations for aircraft and tanks. Very similar to a fixed conveyor line worked almost around the clock. By the way, for a long time the enterprise was the only one in the country who produced the Tapir transmitter for the most popular tank of the Second World War - T-34.
Having a state status, the Sarapul Radio Plant during the years of the Second World War carried out the country's most complex and responsible tasks. The historical period of the end of 1942-1943 became a difficult test for the collective. The constantly changing situation at the front invariably demanded new and better equipment from the factory workers. In a short time mastered the production of the famous radio stations "Tapir" and "The Seagull."
Over the 4 war years, the shipyard produced 156,000 units of radio equipment. 18 times the factory workers became the winners of the social competition among the enterprises of the USSR.
Peaceful time
In 1948, simultaneously with the expansion of production, the plant's staff began the planned work on the construction of new buildings from cinder blocks. The workshops were concentrated on a single territory of the modern OAO Sarapul Radio Plant.
The first section was completed in 1951. It housed workshops No. 5, 12, 16 and the speaker workshop. The second phase was completed in 1954. Workshops Nos. 1, 3, 8, 9 were located on the constructed areas. For the employees of the enterprise, the construction of the first residential two-story houses began in the early 50s.
The exhibition of the famous International Fair in Leipzig in 1955 is crucial for the team. Radiols attracted the attention of many visitors to the exhibition. In 1958, the first domestic class 2 radiol, having the VHF band, became the winner of the exhibition in Brussels. Of the 8 gold medals of this prestigious show, two received products from the Sarapulsky factory: the Comet comet radio station and the Shlyup rescue radio station. In 1962, the first batch of the famous radio station Magnolia was released.
Since 1963, SRZ has been producing the first Italmas stereo radio in the Union. Also in the list of products included radios "Cosmos", "Moskvich", "Orlyonok", "Ural" and others. Since the late 60s, significant production capacities have been focused on manufacturing products for the military, special services, and government agencies. In 1972, the last Cosmos receiver was released, which became the first miniature radio in the USSR. From 1963 to 1972, 1306638 units were produced.
Independence
Despite the negative trends in the economy, the Sarapul Radio Plant worked stably in the late 90s and early 2000s. Since 1997, the first machines for counting and packing coins βUral SM-7β have been produced, until 2003 1250 pieces were produced. During the heyday of the enterprise and the increase in the output of military and civilian products, the controlling stake in the enterprise passes into other hands.
From 2003 to 2006, new management came to the plant, in 2007 the management of JSC βSRZβ changed. Since 2009, a decline in output has begun. By the end of 2010, the financial, economic and industrial condition of the Sarapul Radio Plant became critical.
The Government of the Udmurt Republic decided to acquire the enterprise into the ownership of Izhavia OJSC. A program has been developed and is being implemented to break the deadlock. In the framework of the anti-crisis program, on April 1, 2011, the enterprise was included in the Consolidated Register of the MIC, on September 27 of that year it was included in the List of Strategic Enterprises.
