It is no secret that many users of current computer systems prefer to have the basic elements used in the work, so to speak, at hand. It is not surprising that the desktop becomes their place of quick launch. In the article, we will consider how to display the Yandex shortcut on the desktop. At the same time, we will take into account two decisions regarding the browser and the search engine itself.
What do we use: browser or search engine?
First of all, speaking about the services and software products provided by Yandex, you need to clearly distinguish between their types.
Quite conditionally, they can be divided into two categories: software products that are installed on a computer system, and services that work directly on the Internet (mail, search, news, etc.).
As for the programs, the most famous of all the products of this developer is Yandex.Browser. Its engine, frankly, is developed on the basis of the world famous Chromium, which gives reason to doubt the authorship of the company. Nevertheless, this is not about that now.
Consider another point: is it possible to put on the desktop the shortcut "Yandex. Browser" or a search engine that is called exclusively by software access to the Internet. There are two solutions at least.
How to display the Yandex shortcut on the desktop: the simplest solution for the browser
Let's start with the simplest one, namely with the same name Internet browser. How to install the Yandex shortcut on the desktop? Yes, just like it is for all other programs.
Two methods can be used here. In the first case, it is supposed to find the browser itself or a link to it in the Start menu, and then use the right click to call up the submenu where the command to send the shortcut to the desktop is selected. In the second option, you can find the executable executable file of the launch itself, say, in the same standard Windows Explorer, use the right-click again with the menu call, which contains the line to send the shortcut to the desktop.
But this applies only to outdated versions of the browser. All new modifications create icons in the location of the desktop and in the quick launch panel automatically (and even install a bunch of everything additionally).
How to install the Yandex shortcut on the desktop: a technique for a search engine
If we talk specifically about the search engine, then the issue is also solved quite simply. Let's look at how to create a Yandex shortcut on the desktop in the simplest way.
If someone did not pay attention, look carefully at the launched Internet browser with the Yandex start or search page. As a rule, all modern browsers to the left of the address bar display the icon (logo) of trusted sites. And pages with Yandex services are no exception.
The Yandex shortcut is transferred to the desktop by simply dragging and dropping the icon (this is the letter Y or I to the left of the line) from the browser with a fixed left mouse button click. That's all. In this case, you need to minimize or reduce the browser window so that it does not completely cover the desktop area.
In some cases, you can use another option, when the browser window completely closes the desktop. But then you will first have to move the shortcut to the minimize icon for all windows (in Windows 7 it is located at the bottom right of the screen), and only after that the shortcut will be placed in the right place.
You can also place the Yandex shortcut on the Desktop using the desktop settings themselves provided for in Windows operating systems of any modification. It is enough to use the right click on a free area of a blank screen, and select the shortcut line in the context menu .
Next, you will be prompted to enter either the program address or the address of the web resource. In this case, we are interested in the second option. In the address bar of the site, we write the address of the Yandex resource. Some systems can, to put it mildly, spit, so as a prefix you need to enter not http, but https (secure connection). But in general, there should be no problems.
Total
In general, the Yandex shortcut is transferred to the Desktop quite simply, which is a fairly simple matter for a browser, for a search engine or some other service provided by Yandex. Another question is with which object or program the created shortcut should be associated with.
It remains to add that the method using your own desktop settings is universal, because it allows you to create a shortcut for both the program and the web page. But dragging the icon from the browser is simpler. But here it is worth paying attention to one point: does the browser itself support the display of trusted site icons.
Don't like these options? Do the most "old-fashioned" way: select the address and hold down the Ctrl key and move it to the desktop. As a result, a link appears with a browser icon, which is installed by default or from which the movement was made.
