At the moment, a lot of people are watching such a player as Patrick Roberts - the young station wagon of the attack line impresses everyone with his game. Many believe that in 3-4 years he will become the new star of English football. But for now, Patrick Roberts is just a teenager who has to go through a lot to achieve his goal. But what is left behind the player? What has he already managed to go through and what could he achieve?

Patrick Roberts was born on February 5, 1997 in England, where he began attending the Mosley Juniors Football Academy at an early age. From there, he soon moved to the Wimbledon Club Academy, where he stayed until 2010. When he was 13 years old, Patrick caught the eye of a scout who invited him to go to the famous Fulham club system. Naturally, the boy agreed, and Fulham got a new rising star.
In 2014, when Patrick turned 17, he signed a professional contract with the club and managed to spend only two games for the rest of the season. After that, Fulham flew to the Championship, which gave the young footballer a chance to show himself. In the 14/15 season, he played 20 matches in which he showed himself on the better side, which attracted the attention of the scouts of the strongest clubs. And then a miracle happened - in the summer of 2015, the club received just a crazy offer. One of the strongest clubs in England, Manchester City, was ready to pay 15 million euros for an 18-year-old player. Naturally, Fulham agreed, and Patrick Roberts could not believe his happiness - he became a player at Manchester City!
Six months in a new club
However, it is unlikely that anyone was building any illusions that the young player would immediately break into the club’s main team and begin to receive game practice there on an ongoing basis. But the fact that in the first six months, Patrick Roberts, a footballer whom everyone considered one of the main young talents of England, played in only three matches, could not please anyone. Therefore, in the winter the most reasonable decision was made - the young talent will be sent for rent. Scottish FC Celtic agreed to host it.

The lease agreement is designed for a year and a half, that is, Patrick Roberts will play for the Scottish club until the summer of 2017. The second half of the 15/16 season finally allowed the player to get much-needed practice - he played 13 matches in which he scored six goals.
Now the management of Celtic hopes that Roberts will spend the whole season at the same, and maybe even at a more impressive level. But so far the result is not as astounding as it was at the end of the previous season - the 19-year-old player has entered the field 11 times in various tournaments, but scored only one goal and was marked by two assists. But this is only the beginning - it is quite possible that in the near future Patrick will find his game again and will demonstrate excellent football for Celtic.
The likelihood that in this case he will remain in Celtic for good is extremely small, as Manchester City will only be glad of a new talent. But for now, do not rush - you just have to watch how the young player is developing, and hope that another star will rise on the horizon of football.

Today, Patrick Roberts is 19 years old, and he has never been called up to the national football team. So far, he continues to play for the England youth team. Most recently, he was transferred to a new age category - up to 20 years. There he had already managed to play three friendly matches with the teams of Brazil, Holland and Germany in the same age category. The first match ended in a draw, and the other two with victories, while Roberts scored a goal in the game with the Dutch.
