How to choose a quality tulle?

The classic design of the window opening suggests that such a fabric will completely cover the window, and there will be 2 curtains on the sides. What is a good quality tulle and how to choose it for a classic design?

  • The colors of the curtains and tulle should be in the same color scheme.

  • If the curtains will have lambrequins, folds and odds, then you need to choose a canvas with a smooth and soft surface.

  • When choosing a color, keep in mind that curtains should match the color of the walls. The most durable colors are green and yellow, and orange and blue quickly fade in the sun.

  • Tulle rolls are 3 meters high, and the length is calculated according to the formula - the length of the cornice, multiplied by 3 if the fabric is dense, and 5 if the material is thin.

How to wash the tulle?

We examined what tulle is, and then we need to learn how to care for it. The fabric can be washed by hand or in a typewriter. But both methods involve similar steps:

  • Before washing, you need to knock out the dust from the tulle. It is better to do it in the air or on the balcony.

  • To make the curtains dazzlingly white, they should be soaked before washing. To do this, in a large capacity, water and salt are mixed (100 grams per liter) and the curtains are left in the solution for a couple of hours.

  • To preserve the attractive appearance and whiteness of the tulle, it is recommended to wash at least 2 times a year.

Tulle is a delicate material and requires careful care. Therefore, when hand washing, to reduce the risk of damage to the material, you do not need to rub it and squeeze it strongly. When rinsing, you can add a small amount of blue.

If washing is done in a typewriter, then the tulle must be put in special bags to avoid damage to the fabric. For washing, use delicate detergents and oxygen bleach. Using chlorine-based products can not only ruin the tulle, but also give it a yellowish tint. Washing should be carried out in the modes of hand or delicate washing, and the water temperature should not exceed 40 0 C.
