Vladimir Loginov: career history of the Russian defender

With the advent of serious age by sports standards, it becomes increasingly difficult for hockey players to find a decent club to continue their careers. One of the Russians who have so far failed to find a new team for the past year and a half is Vladimir Loginov. The defender has almost 300 matches in the framework of the Russian championship, but since 2015 he has been a free agent.

On the way to success

Loginov Vladimir Vyacheslavovich was born on January 1, 1981 in the city of Odintsovo, Moscow Region. As a child, his father brought him to the sports section, where the future professional immediately fell in love with hockey. Wanting to become a professional hockey player, Vladimir soon moved to the Wings of the Soviets club school, which debuted at the age of 18 as a youth team.

Already in his first season for “wings”, Vladimir Loginov was able to get closer to the main draw and play 11 matches in the Russian Premier League, gaining one point per goal and transfer. A successful start has contributed to the regular exit to the ice in the following championships, and in 2001, despite all the same two points of performance in 24 games, Loginov became one of the club’s accessors to the Super League.

And immediately, “Wings of the Soviets” managed to gain a foothold in the Russian elite, and the whole team received tremendous experience in performing, showing excellent results - 8th place and reaching the quarter-finals of the playoffs. Vladimir Loginov also had a hand in achieving this success - the hockey player spent the entire season as part of the base, taking part also in several games of the second team. However, the “wings” failed to consolidate the success - according to the results of the 2002/03 championship, Muscovites were in the relegation zone, taking last place and leaving the Super League.

The class of the game, which was demonstrated by Vladimir Loginov, would easily allow him to play as part of the country's main championship clubs, and the next season the defender decided to change the team. Accept the talented player gladly agreed to “Salavat Yulaev”.

Peak career

As part of the Ufa club, Vladimir Loginov quickly became one of the components of a successful defense game, and during the first season he held 46 meetings on the ice, showing a good performance of 6 points. However, in general, the team showed average results.

According to the results of all three seasons held as part of “Salavat Yulaev”, the 7th place in the 2005/06 season was the best achievement, while Loginov spent the ending of the championship as part of the capital “Dynamo”. “White-blue” Vladimir did not fit, and at the beginning of the next championship defender was forced to look for another club.

Search for yourself

Vladimir Loginov chose Novosibirsk “Siberia” as his new place of work, and in the very first season he demonstrated the mistake of the Moscow “Dynamo” who refused the player. For 45 matches of the regular championship the defender earned 16 points, having contributed to taking 5th place in the standings and getting Novosibirsk out of the playoffs. But Sibir was not able to consolidate the success - despite Loginov's newly demonstrated good performance, the team ended up in the basement of the championship, taking 19th place.

As a result, Vladimir was forced to change his team again, trying to achieve success in the KHL, and went to the capital's “Spartak” for one season. But taking the 9th place and flying to the playoffs in the second round, the defender returned to Novosibirsk, where he was still in demand due to poor club results. Loginov failed to help “Siberia” - having played the whole season, Vladimir again became an outsider player - the Siberian club completed the 20th championship. Championship 2010/11 defender began as part of the “Ugra”, but he could not finish it in Khanty-Mansiysk.

Loud shot goodbye

Not finding himself in a number of KHL clubs, in 2011 Vladimir ended up in Novokuznetsk. One of the league outsiders needed experienced players and was counting on a 30-year-old Russian. And the only full season spent for Metallurg allowed Loginov to demonstrate that it was too early to write off - having played in all 54 matches, Vladimir scored 13 points, thanks to which the team showed the best result in the history of playing in the KHL - 17th place (which is the best indicator so far).

As a result, having started powerfully in the next season, at the beginning of 2013 Loginova signed Amur Holding Company. Khabarovsk residents a year earlier were also able to shoot in the championship, taking the final 12th place, and, striving to develop success, they invited an experienced veteran to their place. But even 11 points of the defender did not save the club - “Cupid” was only 25th. However, the leadership decided not to part with the hockey player by signing a new two-year contract with him. Having played another whole season, in 2014 Loginov received a serious injury and was operated on, which is why he missed the rest of the championship.

Upon completion of the contract with Amur HC, Vladimir tried to find a new club, but there were no volunteers from the KHL representatives. The Russian rarely talked with reporters, and also practically did not appear in public, which is why almost nothing is known about his plans, family and current occupation.
