The healing properties of mushrooms are popularly known for a long time and have been used by healers since ancient times. Their treatment even got its name - fungotherapy. Among the many healthy mushrooms that have been used in health in recent years, the ganoderma has attracted special attention. What is it - for a long time they knew only in Japan and China, since such a mushroom grew only there. Now he is known all over the world.
Mushrooms in folk medicine
Sometimes people with skepticism relate to the use of herbalists' centuries-old experience in healing. However, they should remember that before the development of pharmacology and chemistry, it was possible to fight diseases only by natural means. And since mankind has survived to the time when it was able to create medicines artificially, it means that we should not deny the opportunities to improve our health, which give us herbs and healing mushrooms. The most famous of them are recognized even by official medicine. For example, birch chaga is a raw material for drugs against ulcers and gastritis, drugs for liver diseases are made from bile fungus in France, and laclariovialin, an antibiotic that kills Koch's bacillus (the causative agent of tuberculosis), is isolated from the usual mushroom. And this is only a small part of what medicinal mushrooms can give . The people know much more about their properties and applications.
Ganoderma: what is it?
She is known in Russia as a varnished tinder. Like all representatives of the genus, it is a parasite - these mushrooms grow on trees. In Japan, it is known as Reishi, the imperial mushroom or the immortality mushroom. In nature, this tinder fungus is rather capricious; its spores germinate only on a wild sink (and not every one is suitable) and in a rather narrow temperature range. In former times, the found "plantations" of the ganoderma were kept lucky in deep secrecy, left as a legacy or given as a dowry. Aware of the value of Reishi, some Japanese emperors demanded that all found mushrooms be taken to their court. The ganoderma was then so expensive that very few could resort to its healing power. Only at the end of the twentieth century, the Japanese farmer Shigeaki Mori was the first to grow a "home" ganoderma. That this is a wonderful mushroom that can help many, after such success, the whole world has learned - now it has become available to almost everyone.

Ganoderma for nutrition
Sometimes a question arises in people: "Tinder fungus - edible mushroom or not?" In fact, most members of the genus are not consumed. Only some varieties are considered conditionally edible, and even then with certain reservations. For example, sulfur-yellow can only be eaten young and only that grown on a deciduous tree. Otherwise, the eater receives not only poisoning, but also hallucinations. But the tinder fungus called the liverwort is edible, but again only old. Birch - is bitter and hard, when you use it you won’t be poisoned, but you won’t get any pleasure either. Umbrella is an exception, it is edible without restrictions, but practically does not grow in Russia. The Chinese respect him very much. But it is impossible to say about the chestnut tinder fungus - edible mushroom or not because of the impossibility of verification: even at a young age it is so cruel that even after a long cooking it will not work to bite off a piece of the hat. As for reishi, it is not used categorically in cooking: it is grown only for medicinal purposes.

Ganoderma against allergies
One of Reishi’s most used abilities is the cure of allergies and autoimmune diseases. Allergy sufferers, as you know, are most often forbidden to take immunostimulants, and therefore their immunity is often weakened. The uniqueness of the ganoderma is that it does not stimulate the immune system, but regulates and restores it: it supports inhibited functions and slows down too active ones. This is done by a substance called lanostan, which delays the formation of antibodies that are responsible for the occurrence of allergic reactions. The treatment of autoimmune diseases and allergies with the help of Reishi will be quite lengthy, but guaranteed to be successful.
Reishi mushroom for the heart
Another popular direction in which the ganoderma is used. The reviews of the cores and the attending doctors coincide: a positive trend is observed after the first dose. Just five hours later, blood cholesterol is reduced by ten percent. And two weeks of treatment give a stable decrease in pressure in hypertensive patients to normal levels. Even stubborn traditionalists who reject the achievements of traditional medicine recommend reishi drugs to people who have suffered a stroke or heart attack. Recovery with them occurs much faster and in a more complete form. There have even been cases of curing partial post-stroke paralysis.
Ganoderma fungus also has a positive effect on blood vessels. Reducing "bad cholesterol", it cleans their walls, preventing atherosclerosis and stopping its development.
Tumor Control
However, the most valuable quality of the varnished tinder fungus is its anti-cancer effect. Professional oncologists, who are wary of any alternative treatment methods, are forced to note that taking drugs based on the ganoderma causes at least a stop of the growth of existing tumors and the prevention of the appearance of metastases. In some cases, the cancers resorbed. In addition, the general well-being of patients improved. Chemotherapy and radiation did not have the usual inhibitory effect on the body, the drop in leukocytes became mild, and immunity (which is almost absent in most cancer patients) was noticeably strengthened. True, to achieve this effect, you need to take Reishi drugs for at least a month. But then he is not lost during the year.
What else will help the ganoderma
The list of diseases that Reishi is able to cope with is quite long.
- Pulmonary diseases of different origin. Including tuberculosis. Ganoderma is very useful in the treatment of pneumonia and asthma. Although, without a doubt, the healing process will take quite a long time.
- Epilepsy. Official medicine considers this disease incurable. However, Japanese chronicles provide evidence of how the imperial son was cured by the Reishi mushroom in the seventeenth century. Ganoderma is also used in cases of other mental illnesses.
- Relieve nervous tension. Most of the medications prescribed to achieve this goal, certainly causes drowsiness, which is why it is forbidden to drive or deal with mechanisms. The ganoderma has an amazing property when calming not to sleep and not to scatter attention.
- Diabetes. Exceptionally, he is not cured by the Reishi mushroom. However, taking drugs from it reduces blood sugar and maintains it at the achieved level.
Mushroom slimming
Many ladies buy reishi just to normalize their own weight. And although promoting this process is not the main task that the mushroom performs, it is quite able to help those who are losing weight. First, ganoderma reduces appetite, and this is confirmed by the reviews of those taking the drug. A person has a feeling that he is full, before he eats the usual portion. And there is no feeling of hunger in the intervals between the prescribed meals. Secondly, reishi speeds up the metabolism somewhat. As a result, toxins with toxins are removed from the body, excess fluid leaves it. Thirdly, the fungus causes all organs to actively burn fat. And given its harmlessness, the fight against cholesterol and the immunostimulating effect, a person, in addition to losing weight, also gets better health.
Application methods
Some pharmaceutical companies offer capsule ganoderma mushroom. However, finding them is rather difficult. Most often it comes in dried or powder form. In this case, either a decoction, or infusion, or tincture are made, which are then used for treatment.
- Decoction. Two teaspoons of mushroom powder are poured with water (seven hundred milliliters), put on the slowest fire and after boiling are left on it for an hour. After filtering, the broth is drunk in a glass three times a day for half an hour before you need to sit at the table.
- Infusion. Reishi spoon in a glass of boiling water, cover and wait a quarter of an hour. It is added a little to any drink.
- A spoon - this time a canteen - of the ganoderma is poured with a half liter of high-quality vodka, corked and aged in the dark for a month and a half. In the morning, a spoonful of tincture is diluted with a small volume of water and drunk on an empty stomach.
Sometimes Reishi is also used in dry form, as a powder - a quarter of a spoon a couple of times a day. You can season them with first courses, little by little, instead of salt or with it.
Side effects
It is believed that the fungus does not have them. No wonder in Japan it is assigned to the highest class of medicinal plants. Laboratory tests seem to confirm the opinion of the Japanese. However, no matter how safe the ganoderma is, contraindications to its use still exist. First of all, this, of course, is an individual possible intolerance. The second case in which caution is needed is pregnancy. There are no clinical trials about the effect of the fungus on the fetus - nevertheless, the mushroom became known to the world not so long ago. For the same reason, you should avoid giving it to children, at least until they are five years old.
The only thing the ganoderm may not like is the price. The minimum course in six steps will cost you almost one and a half thousand rubles. However, the benefits of reishi are well worth the money requested. If you have any serious health problems, believe the millennium-old Japanese practice: the ganoderma will help you. What is it and how to use it, you already know, it remains to check how effective the "mushroom of immortality" is.
