Consider the content of the poem. It describes a pond in a green duckweed, in which a reed sways and makes a noise. On its shore sits a lovely girl Alyonushka. On it, though a simple but beautiful wreath woven of carnations and lilies.

The girl is wearing a blue dress with poplar fluff. On the shore of dead water, grass grows and dope blooms. The cuckoo is crying, yearning. A path leads to the shore, and the sun lays its golden hoops on the water.

Reading Prokofiev’s work, we present a nice girl who sits on the shore of a pond. Of course, the landscape is painted a little gloomy. Nevertheless, the Alyonushka described by the poet does not seem so sad as she is depicted in the painting of Viktor Vasnetsov.

The image of a Russian girl is filled with truly Russian sadness, longing and loneliness.

Expressive means in the work

Many different literary devices were used in his lyrics by Prokofiev. “Alyonushka” (analysis of the poem showed us that the poet was trying to describe Vasnetsov’s picture and supplement it) describes a less gloomy atmosphere than on the artist’s canvas. For this, epithets were used: “green duckweed”, “dear Alyonushka”, “poplar fluff”; metaphor "golden hoops"; personifications: “the pond is dead”, “the reed is noisy”, “the path leads”, “the sun sets”.

The author used color painting. He depicted a white-red wreath, a blue dress, gold hoops from the sun. Thanks to this, the poem became more vivid.

Prokofiev was inspired by Vasnetsov's picture "Alyonushka." He created the eponymous lyrical work. He described the native land, the image of a Russian girl. However, he did not portray all the anguish, loneliness and sadness that are felt in Vasnetsov’s painting.
