The EO-2621 excavator is a logical continuation of the E-153, E-1514, E-2515 series. First released in 1955 in Kiev (E-153), with significant and not very updates, it is used in construction and material handling to this day.
The basic version has a backhoe bucket, and a bulldozer bucket in front, used, in addition to the main work (filling trenches, snow removal and the like), also to counterbalance the main working body - the bucket. The popularity of this unit is due to the fact that the main working unit has a fairly wide scope, and in addition, there is the possibility of replacement. If the bulldozer is a permanent equipment, then the bucket can be rotated 180 degrees (we get a straight shovel), as well as replaced with other installations, the choice of which is quite wide.
The device of the main working body
Based on the YuMZ EO-2621 tractor, it received a “strapping” frame, and a bulldozer on a separate frame. At the rear of this frame, a swivel column is mounted on a chain drive and support shoes lowered to the ground for added stability during operation of the main working tool. In the factory supply, the working body is an arrow, a handle and a bucket.

The connection between the parts is articulated, control is carried out by hydraulic cylinders, while the first hydraulic cylinder is attached directly to the rotary part of the column by means of hinges. The column is welded and cast, consists of two parts, while one part can be rotated with bearings relative to the other part fixed to the main part of the frame. In addition to the main cylinder, the boom has a special block in the lower part that fixes the inclination of all excavator equipment in the transport position. By means of a chain mechanism and two hydraulic cylinders of the column, the working equipment can rotate around a vertical axis by 160 degrees.
Hydraulics
The hydraulic system EO-2621 consists of two separate hydraulic drives having a common tank. Of these, one controls the boom, stick and bucket. The second function includes the work of the supports (in the released position, they can raise the tractor half a meter above the parking level), and a rotary column system. Also, through the control valves, the second drive is responsible for the movement of the bulldozer bucket.
Additional functions
In addition to the main functions, the bulldozer excavator in the specifications has two additional, but the real range of possibilities is much wider. The bulldozer part is present during any operation, and the rear part may change. It should be noted that the bucket can rotate 180 degrees - in this position, the bucket is rigidly fixed to the handle with additional rods, and the handle hydraulic cylinders are hooked onto the lower bracket. The bucket hydraulics control its opening for unloading.
In addition, the EO-2621 excavator can be equipped with crane or clamshell equipment. It is also possible to put a bucket of increased volume or replace it with forks. Separately, we mention that the main unit system allows the use of a wide range of devices not specified in the main documentation.
Examples of using
Use in the basic version with a backhoe bucket involves digging small pits, shallow pits or channels, as well as trenches for underground utilities.
The straight shovel option is suitable for use when the surface is above the parking level of the machine. The same bucket can be used to load bulk or finely lumped loads.
The grab can be used to clean pits, channels, or to dig wells. Such a “bucket” is well suited for gripping and loading various materials.
There is also a special loading bucket in the arsenal of EO-2621. The scope of work of this option is not much different from the base, except that the sides of the bucket are straight.
It is interesting that each of the options described above has teeth for opening asphalt or the topsoil, but despite this, among interchangeable work units there is a baking powder and even a hydraulic hammer used specifically for destroying the topsoil. Which of them is better - buyers decide, and we note that the tooth allows you to develop frozen soil with a depth of up to 300 mm. At the same time, a hydraulic hammer equipped with a ramming plate can be used not only for destruction - as the name implies, this way you can prepare the bottom layer, for example, for laying tiles.

Characteristic EO-2621 for the most part repeats the tractor, which he, in fact, is. So, it has tractor wheels - front, rear, cab height, also not much changed. Although due to the location of the main working unit at the rear, the driver’s seat was able to turn 180 degrees, facing the excavator control levers. So, the wheel gauge is 1460 mm along the front, 1550 at the rear, the width of the frame with the fastening of the bulldozer block will add about half a meter to the track.
