Youthful maximalism: advantages and disadvantages

Youthful maximalism is the privilege of young people who have not yet learned to accept half-tones. In the minds of youth there are only two poles: black and white. “All or nothing” - it is under this slogan that the maximalist appears. Interestingly, such a position is often very beneficial and allows you to achieve a lot without having anything. Young make their way in life on the same ambitions. Features of adolescence do not allow to take the point of view of adults.

The latter seem indifferent and soft, ready to give in and compromise with life. Young people do not make concessions. However, the gentleness of adults has a special power, as well as the pressure of young people. It’s just a completely different view of reality. True, sometimes youthful maximalism with its exaggerated demands is much stronger than the sound judgment of the older generation.

Often, in order to get what you want and achieve a goal, you need to move towards it with clear confidence. Adults no longer have it. An experienced person can say only what he is sure of. He judiciously evaluates his strength. Psychology of adolescence is more categorical and harsh. It also has a certain naivety, which has not yet disappeared from childhood. That is why young people do so many stupid things that later become ashamed to remember. As adults, people often try to protect their children from the mistakes that they themselves made. However, here they encounter a wall of misunderstanding - the same youthful maximalism. The world-famous problem of “fathers and children” has precisely the tragedy of a misunderstanding of generations.

Over time, this phenomenon, of course, passes. It is noted that men by the age of 30 do not want much from life. This happens not with everyone, but with many. Therefore, it is nevertheless necessary to maintain a share of youthful fire. All successful people who have achieved anything in life have been driven by the dreams of their youth. At heart, they remained young. Youth has something that no age period has — strength and pressure, in spite of all life's obstacles, move forward.

Youthful maximalism does not accept the scale of majority values. Therefore, many young people say that they will not live like their parents. However, having matured, many, unfortunately, repeat them even to the smallest detail. Probably, if the youth were more circumspect, this would not have happened. But reason is the property of adults and mature people who can hardly change anything in life and do not believe in their strength. It is interesting that sometimes such a phenomenon as youthful maximalism also occurs among adults. However, here it acquires other features. In adulthood, he does not have that youthful charm when naivety, pressure and a certain amount of despair are mixed into one cocktail. The adult maximalist is not livable; he does not listen to anyone but himself. Moreover, such qualities do not bring him benefits, rather, they only spoil his relationships with others.

Youthful place in youth. Adults can not afford such luxury as categorical choice and judgment. In addition, the thinking of an experienced person has one distinctive characteristic - flexibility. It is this quality and the ability to accept someone else's point of view that speaks of moral and mental maturity. Unfortunately, this property often becomes the cause of conformism. Reality breaks wings and reduces inquiries. Those who have not stopped dreaming, becoming adults, are few. Often such people achieve more in life than their peers. Because they understand what exactly drives a person to a goal. Being engaged in self-development, you can very much understand and appreciate the shortcomings of both periods in life. Reassessment will help to make the right decision and find a way out of the most difficult situation.
