Analysis of the poem "The Death of the Poet" Lermontov M. Yu.

The poem "The Death of the Poet" by Lermontov is a tribute to the genius of the great Russian poet - Alexander Sergeyevich Pushkin. Mikhail Yuryevich always admired the talent of his contemporary, took an example from him. For this reason, he was shocked by the news of the death of Pushkin. Lermontov was the first to express his protest to society, the authorities and truthfully described the events of that time. He does not understand that such a sincere, open and talented person like Alexander Sergeyevich can make stupid, greedy people in society who only envy him and make fun of him behind their backs.

the death of the poet Lermontov
From the poem "The Death of the Poet" by Lermontov from the first lines it becomes clear that the author blames the death of a person not of the duelist Dantes himself, but the whole society. Mikhail Yuryevich was well aware that in the last years of his life, Pushkin was ridiculed, he was treated like a court jester. The poet suffered alone from a misunderstanding, but could not do anything.

Lermontov considers the mockery of fate the fact that a man who despised Russian culture and traditions raised his hand to the great Russian genius. But not only Dantes is to blame for what happened, an environment that did everything to increase passions to the limit and incite hatred towards each other of two men should have understood that it endangers the life of a man who has enriched the treasury of Russian culture. After Pushkin’s death, many people who despised him put on a mask of universal grief, and M. Lermontov considers this manifestation of excessive hypocrisy.

"The death of the poet" consists of two parts. The beginning of the poem is an elegy, in the second part the satire is clearly visible. First, Mikhail Yuryevich simply talks about the events that happened and blames the people responsible for the death of a talented person. Then he rebuffs those who dare to justify Pushkin's killers. The poem "The Death of the Poet" by Lermontov is an appeal to the insensitive descendants of rich and influential parents, the so-called "golden youth." He is confident that sooner or later they will get what they deserve.

The fact that on this earth there is no truth, Mikhail Lermontov does not even doubt. "The death of a poet" is a challenge to an arrogant society, accustomed to solve all its problems and punch its way by ringing coins. But there is God's incorruptible court, and there everyone who is guilty of the death of Pushkin will receive what they deserve. The author of the poem is sure that murderers will never be able to wash away the righteous blood of a great man with their worthless blood.

Mikhail Lermontov death of the poet
Lermontov’s “death of the poet” is a fair accusation of Pushkin’s entire entourage, who failed to support him, but only trampled him into the mud. Mikhail Yuryevich is in many ways similar to his idol; he, too, was not understood by his contemporaries. He, just like Alexander Sergeyevich, died in a duel. But by no means the bullet caused the death of both geniuses, they were killed by indifference, contempt, outright misunderstanding, the envy of society. Both Pushkin and Lermontov understood that they would not be able to live in a world where poets are equated with court jesters, which may be why they died so early.
