Mexican goalkeeper Guillermo Ochoa

Ochoa Guillermo is a Mexican footballer playing on loan for the Spanish Granada. He is 31 years old, which is quite a lot by the standards of a field soccer player. However, Guillermo Ochoa acts as a goalkeeper, so he can remain in sports for quite some time.

Carier start

Guillermo Ochoa was born July 13, 1985 in the Mexican city of Guadalajara, where he began to get involved in football, and then seriously engage in it. Until 2003, he trained at the Academy of the local club "America", played for youth teams, and when he was eighteen, he signed a professional contract with the club. In the same season, he made his debut for the main team, playing 12 matches.

Next season, he already became the main goalkeeper of the club, despite such a young age. For eight years, Guillermo Ochoa defended the colors of the club, winning several trophies with him, including the 2005 Mexican Championship and the 2006 American Champions League. In total, he spent 226 matches for the club, but in the summer of 2011, when he was 26 years old, he decided to move to Europe, because all American football players primarily dream about it.

However, it is worth noting that Guillermo Ochoa was not a huge talent that different clubs would hunt for. Nobody paid a lot of money for him, so he waited for the completion of the current contract with America and signed an agreement with the French Ajaccio. Naturally, there he immediately got a place at the base, and all three years who were in the club was the number one goalkeeper. He played 116 matches, and when his contract came to an end, he signed a new agreement with the Spanish “Malaga”. Guillermo Ochoa moved there in 2014 after a successful World Cup.

Going to Malaga

However, in the new club Ochoa did not find such recognition as in his previous teams. In “Malaga” he became the goalkeeper of the reserve and in two seasons he entered the field only 19 times. Naturally, this did not suit either the player or the team, so in the summer of 2016 the Mexican was sent for rent to the weaker Spanish club - Granada.

Rent in Granada

In “Granada”, Ochoa immediately got a place at the base and in the current season has already played 17 matches, having conceded 33 goals in them. Only two games he could defend to zero.

In the Mexican national team, Ochoa made his debut in December 2005, when he was only 20 years old, but for the first time he was called up to the national team a year earlier - he simply did not appear at the base. During his career, he spent 158 matches, losing 69 goals in them. The peak of his career was participation in the 2014 World Cup - he was at the World Championships 2006 and 2010, however, as a reserve player. Together with the national team, he won three golden CONCACAF Cups, and in two cases he was the main goalkeeper.
