Drunina Julia Vladimirovna is a Russian poetess who throughout her creative life carried the theme of war in her works. Born in 1924. Participated in the Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945. For some time she was a deputy of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR. She died in 1991.

Of course, there are not enough facts to understand what kind of woman this is - Julia Drunina. Her biography is full of tragic stories, and poems and films are still being written about her last love. Therefore, everything in order.

Childhood

On May 10, 1924, a girl was born in the Moscow maternity hospital, named Julia. She was born in an intelligent family: her father taught history at a Moscow school, and her mother worked there as a librarian. They lived extremely poorly, huddled in a small communal room.

Julia Drunina Love Poems

Despite everything, my father instilled in Yulia a love of books, reading. Favorite authors in the early days were the French writer Alexander Dumas and the Soviet writer Lydia Charskaya. In their books, unlike the classics, which my father strongly recommended reading, many human emotions - fear and courage, love and hate, separation, betrayal and many others - are described very vividly, very colorfully, truthfully and vitally.

Julia, like many teenagers, believed that nothing was impossible in life, that life was given in order to learn all the unknown and to solve all unsolved - Drunina had been drawn to this throughout her life. She began to write poetry in early childhood. Already in 1930, when she was 6 years old, she prepared a poem with which she won the contest dedicated to the Civil War.

"We were sitting next to a school desk ..."

This was the first poem by Drunina, which was published in the Teacher’s Newspaper, and also read on the radio. Parents did not believe in the success of their daughter. Father, Vladimir Drunin, tried himself in this activity, wrote several works, but did not achieve much success. During her studies, Drunina’s poems were repeatedly published in the school wall newspaper. At this time, mainly Julia Drunina wrote poetry about love, with beautiful stories, with knights, with princes, but often took up topics and notes necessary for school events. Over time, the fame of the poetess was entrenched in the girl, and Julia absolutely did not want to lose her. So, year after year, school days went on, and then suddenly war broke out. A huge test passed Julia Drunina. Her biography was replenished with new interesting facts, heroic deeds, medals, orders.

Youth and war

On June 22, 1941, thousands of young men and women said goodbye to the school and greeted the school company with the dawn, including Julia. No one could even imagine that this morning would be fatal for the entire Soviet people. At 5 a.m. the first explosions rang out, announcements of a sudden attack by troops sounded on the radio. Instantly began a mass conscription in the ranks of the Soviet army.

Julia Drunina, like many girls of that time, in the front ranks volunteered for the front. The young girl was initially not allowed to the places of military operations. Being in the rear, she took nursing courses. For some time she worked in the District Red Cross Society.

Julia Drunina biography

In late summer 1941, German troops launched an active attack on Moscow, Drunina was sent to the area of the city of Mozhaisk to build defensive shelters. Here, during an air attack, she was thrown away from her team, and she “nailed” to a group of young soldiers who needed a nurse. It was during this period that Julia for the first time truly fell in love. Neither the name nor the middle name of this person is still known. In all the works he was simply Combat. For a long time, Yulia Drunina wrote poems about love for him, about his heroic deeds and steel character. Unfortunately, their acquaintance was very short. The battalion commander and two more soldiers were blown up by a mine, while Julia herself was seriously stunned.

In the same 1941, when Drunina finally returned to her native Moscow, she and her whole family were sent to Siberia. Julia did not want to sit out in the rear, but still went. The reason was good: the health of his father, who at the very beginning of the war suffered a stroke. In 1942, after the second, Vladimir Drunin died in the arms of his daughter. After the funeral, Julia Drunina decided to leave for Khabarovsk and again go to the front line.

Julia Drunina poems about the war
In Khabarovsk, she entered the School of Junior Aviation Specialists. Learning was hard. Soon it became known that the girls who completed their studies would not be allowed to fight, but would form only a reserve female regiment. Julia Drunina was not ready for this. The biography associated with the war does not end there just because at one time she graduated from nursing courses. By the decision of the Supreme Commander, it was decided to send the nurse-girls to the places of battle. So she got into the second Belorussian front, in the sanitary department.

Acquaintance with Zinka

Zinka Julia Drunina

At this time, there is a meeting of two girls nurses, who were connected by friendship in the difficult time of the war. Zinaida Samsonova is a senior sergeant in the medical service. She not only fearlessly carried out wounded soldiers from the battlefield, but also skillfully used machine guns and grenades. For all the time spent in the war, more than fifty Soviet fighters were saved by her hands and a dozen German soldiers were killed. But on January 27, 1944, during an offensive in the Gomel region, when she tried to pull a wounded soldier on herself, she was killed by a German sniper bullet. She was only 19 years old. The poetess could not remain indifferent to this. “Zinka” by Yulia Drunina is one of the most popular poems at present, it contains lines about the death of her friend, the brave girl Zinaida Samsonova:

"Zinka led us to the attack ...

We did not expect posthumous glory

We wanted to live with glory.

... why in the bandages of blood

The light-haired soldier is lying? "

Severe wound to Julia Drunina

In 1943, Julia was wounded in battle: a fragment that bounced off a shell entered the neck without miraculously touching the carotid artery, to which some 5 mm remained. Julia, as a strong fighter, did not attach due importance to the wound. Deciding that it was just a scratch, she wrapped a bandage around her neck and continued to serve as a nurse. She didn’t tell anyone anything (and it wasn’t before then), she saved the fighters day after day, carried herself from the battles, from the battles. But once Drunina lost consciousness - she came to herself only in a hospital bed.

Julia Drunina creativity

It was no longer possible to return to the system from the hospital. She was commissioned for some time for health reasons. Having returned to Moscow, having decided to continue his studies, he submits documents to the Literary Institute, but Drunin does not drive away thoughts of returning to duty. Poetry, by coincidence, did not pass the selection stage. The girl returns to the front again. This time she was assigned to the 1038th self-propelled artillery regiment of the 3rd Baltic Front. In 1944, during one of the battles, she was shell-shocked. So ended her military service.

Over the years, she received the rank of foreman of the medical service, was awarded the Order of the Red Star and the medal "For Courage".

The war left its mark on creativity. Over the years, Julia Drunina wrote poems about war and death every free minute. Many of them are included in collections of military works.

Post-war life

In 1944, Drunina decided to attend classes at the Literary Institute. And this time, she begins to study in the middle of the year and without entrance exams. No one dares to refuse her. He attends classes in a pea jacket and tarpaulin boots. Yulia Drunina writes poetry about the war, in which each line is permeated with grief, exploits and courage. The publisher did not carry her collections, only occasionally asked her friend to capture her works too. Perhaps that is why the poet's fame came to her only after death.

A family

Among her classmates, she meets a young guy named Nikolai, who, like her, is found unfit for military service. Some time the couple meet, and soon they register their marriage.

In 1946, a child is born in the family - the daughter of Julia Drunina and Nikolai Starshinov. Troubles with a small child took a lot of time. The young mother did not have the strength either to study or to poetry. There was no money in the house, and Julia did not know how to housekeeping: even an elementary dinner was bad for her.

Nikolai Starshinov, after a long time, shared his memories of the culinary abilities of his wife: “Once,” he said, “she fed me soup, which was quite heavily salted and had a strange color. Only after the divorce, Julia admitted to me that it was a piece of potato in a uniform cooked by her mother. I admit that I didn’t eat any tastier soup. ”

Nikolai and Julia divorced in 1960.

last love

While still married, Julia meets with screenwriter Alexei Kapler. The love between them broke out almost immediately, but Drunina for six years struggling with this feeling, trying to save the family. Still, love was stronger. For almost twenty years, Julia and Alexei lived in perfect harmony, neither the age difference nor the difficult fate of the Russian woman was an obstacle.

Now, Julia Drunina dedicated love poems only to him - Alexei Kapler. In 1979, having failed to defeat the difficult stage of oncology, the husband dies. For Julia, this was an irreparable loss. She never learned to live without him.

Death of Julia Drunina

For some time, a Soviet woman, a great poetess, tried to return to a full life, but this turned out to be impossible. A life fighter, Yulia Drunina, could not let go of herself, and it became impossible to live and see how the country collapses.

I tried my hand at politics, trying to defend the rights of participants in the Great Patriotic War, the rights of people who returned from the war in Afghanistan. But none of this worked out. So not finding a meaning in life, she decides to commit suicide.

On November 20, 1991, her body was found in the garage of her own house: she choked on the exhaust fumes of a car. Her first husband, among the reasons that pushed Julia Drunin to such a desperate step, also mentioned that she did not want to grow old. She was frightened by old age and helplessness. Julia wanted to remain always young, but illness and age, unfortunately, did not allow her to do this. Thus ended the great wartime poet Julia Vladimirovna Drunina. She was buried next to Alexei Kapler at the Starokrymsky cemetery.

(All baptized!) I pray

For people like you - for the elect

Hold Russia over the cliff.

But I'm afraid that you are powerless.

How Russia flies downhill

I can’t, I don’t want to watch! "
