Apparently, any owner of a mobile phone or computer that has information about contacts and phone numbers was faced with the need to save them as a backup in case of a quick recovery if something unexpected happened to the device. It is clear that the effects of viruses cannot be ruled out either. Even in Android-systems, such threats can penetrate quite simply (take at least the recent hype around the Play Market storage, in which there were a huge number of infected applications). But viruses can easily remove important user information, including contact details of friends, relatives, business partners, etc.
In order to protect yourself from unforeseen situations associated with the loss of such details, it is best to transfer the contact list as a backup or constantly updated as the copy changes to some cloud service. We’ll talk about how to keep contacts in the cloud. As a few simple examples, we’ll take popular repositories from Google, Mail.Ru, and Yandex. The actions performed in other services do not differ fundamentally from what will be described below. However, preference will be given exclusively to mobile systems.
How to save contacts in the Google cloud: standard synchronization on Android devices
So, for starters, let's consider the simplest actions that will allow you to save your contact list with all the additional information in the Google cloud service, which can be useful to all owners of Android devices.
How to save phones to the cloud in the phone? The first simplest method is to synchronize the phonebook with the account used on the device. Enter the settings of your smartphone or tablet, call up the contacts section, tap on the button for calling up additional parameters, indicated by three dots, and then select the option to combine with Google.
Upon completion of the operation, a notification of successful synchronization will appear.
Note: this option may not be available on all versions of Android, or you will need to access it from the accounts section.
Speaking about how to save contacts on the Google cloud on Android, you can do without using the above function.
To simplify matters, you can immediately go to the accounts section, tap on the Google account used on the device, then scroll to the bottom of the settings menu and select the contact synchronization item, after which you can start the process by pressing the update button marked with a circular arrow. Upon completion, the current date and time will be displayed, which correspond to the moment of synchronization.
Export phone book to file
It is clear that for the two previous methods it is necessary that the Internet connection is active. But how to save contacts in the cloud if there is currently no connection? Easy too!
First, you can use the previously described contact section, but select the export as the operation to be performed, and then specify the location for saving the phone book (SIM card, SD media, internal storage). From a practical point of view, it is best to save the file on removable media (depending on the OS version or your choice, it will be either a vCard file or a file with the CSV extension). After that, you can enter Gmail from your home computer, connect a smartphone to it, and then import contacts from the file in the service itself, indicating its location on the mobile device.
Note: if for some reason the device does not appear when browsing, first copy the saved file to the hard drive. You can also just save the created file in the Google Disk storage without using import in the mail service, but it will be impossible to automatically edit or synchronize it with the device.

In the case of a PC, you first need to use the account manager, mark the necessary contacts on the computer (for example, in some email program), save the file in DOC format, launch the Cloud Mail.Ru cloud application and specify the location of the saved file for uploading to the cloud.
As for how to save contacts in the cloud on a mobile device, you can offer to launch the installed mobile applet, select the item for copying entries, note the details to be transferred and wait for the data transfer process to complete.

Transfer contacts from one device to another through the Yandex cloud
Finally, let us dwell on another popular service. The actions in it are slightly different. But its advantage is that you can use the transfer even on very very outdated mobile devices and platforms.
To do this, you just need to install the Yandex.Moving application, selecting the version for your model of the old device, after which you will need to log in, write the PIN code that appears after transferring data (it will be needed when importing contacts on the new device).
