Biography
Kurban Berdyev in the early 80s became a prominent personality in domestic football. Speaking in the major league of the USSR, he fell in love with many of his seriousness and isolation. He did not waste his free time - he read a lot, kept a diary, which included notes about football and notes by famous coaches.

Football career
In the 80th year, he spent several matches with Rostselmash (today, Rostov). Then he moved to Kairat. Success came two years later, when together with the team he took first place in the First League and got the opportunity to play in the Higher League of the USSR. Kurban Berdyev did not have time to enjoy a new level. The management decided to give a chance to the young, and the defender had to end his career. Then he was only 33 years old. Kurban Bekievich did not give up and went to the courses of trainers.

The football player Berdyev was not too fast, but the coach does not need fast legs. Thanks to the knowledge, the former player proved himself very quickly in a new field. At first he coached Kazakhstan teams, where he showed his abilities. In 1993, he received an offer from Turkey. He stands at the helm of the Genclerbirligi, which was an outsider. In 2001, the leadership of Kazan “Rubin” invited Kurban Berdyev to the post of coach and was not mistaken in his choice. Then, “Rubin” did not buy famous players, did not fight for getting into European competitions, but dreamed of playing for the first time in history in the Premier League. Kurban Bekievich arranged this for the fans of the club. In 2002, the Kazan team entered the elite division, which was already an achievement. But that was only the beginning. A year later, the players won the bronze medal of the championship. This was a turning point in Berdyev’s coaching career. Every newspaper wrote about him.
But he had to build everything from scratch. Football in the republic was only in its infancy. “Rubin” had neither a normal leadership, nor fields, nor training bases. Kurban Berdyev not only assumed the duties of a coach. With this specialist, a club and five good fields appeared at the club. Very much a mentor cared about the future of the team. Soon, thanks to the efforts of Kurban Bekievich, a boarding school appeared in which it was necessary not only to play well, but also to study well. Berdyev wanted disciples from the students. And not only from them.
Discipline is the foundation of the Berdyev team. “Ruby” did not have famous football players. The team game brought the Kazan fans the first serious trophies and pride for the club. In 2008 and 2009, the club became the champion of Russia, won the Cup and the Super Bowl of the country. In 2009, Rubin players pleased the fans by defeating the formidable Barcelona.
2001-2013 became the era of Kurban Bekievich Berdyev in the Kazan team. In 2014, the leadership fired the coach, which was perceived very ambiguously. Many experts call this the main mistake in the history of Rubin.
Rostov
In December 2014, Rostov was in a stalemate. The team is in last place in the standings. It seemed that no one could save her. Having headed it in the middle of the season, Berdyev managed to leave Rostov in the elite division.
The 2015/16 season was marked in Russian football by the fact that “Rostov” entered the fight for the champion title with the main favorites. Often they began to call him "Russian Leicester." It did not work to win the coveted trophy from Rostov (2nd place), but he clearly managed to please football fans. Many bright games have already entered the history of the Rostov club.
