Childhood and youth
Bo Anderson was born at the beginning of the second half of the 20th century, namely October 16, 1955. The birthplace of this famous person is the beautiful country of Sweden, in particular its southern city of Falkenberg. In this wonderful city he was born and spent there all his childhood and youth. At the age of 19, young Bo Anderson enters the armed forces of Sweden. There he receives military endurance and hardening. It should be noted that in the Swedish Armed Forces he achieved considerable success, having risen to the rank of major.
Education
Military service did not prevent him from achieving much in education. Bo Anderson is not only a graduate of the Swedish Military Academy, but also has a bachelor's degree in business administration from Stockholm University, and he also completed a management program at one of the most prestigious universities in the world, at Harvard.
Career
Starts work in the automotive industry in 1987, at a fairly mature age - at 32 years old. The first position he occupied in this industry was the post of GM manager in matters of joint activities in one of the most famous companies - Saab. After 3 years in this position, he is appointed vice president of procurement at Saab. After another 3 years, in 1993, Bo Anderson again changes his post, returning to the company in which he started his career - GM. There he becomes a director. His responsibilities include the purchase of electrical equipment and other electronics. After a year, his duties are changing again, and he becomes the main procurement of chemical materials. After several years of hard work in this position, he is promoted and becomes vice president of procurement at GM Europe. This event takes place in 1997, when he was 42 years old, that is, after ten years of work in the field of mechanical engineering. Remaining to work in the same company, Bo Anderson in 1999 changed his line of business and led the international procurement team. From the spring of 2007 to the summer of 2009, Bu Anderson was vice president of procurement and the supply chain for GM Group.
In June 2009, he became an adviser to Oleg Deripaska and became the head of the board of directors of GAZ Group. It is from this event that his activity in the Russian automotive industry begins.
Activities in Russia
In August 2009, Bo Anderson became president of GAZ Group. At this post, he pledged to combine the planning of the firm’s strategy with the management of current operational activities. The management of the company posed the following task for Bo Anderson: to achieve the best balance between such parameters as product quality and costs of various levels. In the course of its activities, this company was able to introduce to the market a new model range that fully met the requirements of a modern person for a car. The company also began to cooperate with the most famous and sought-after foreign manufacturers in this industry, which helped it strengthen its position in the domestic market and strengthen leadership among light vehicles. Thanks to the activities of Bu Anderson, the company increased its annual income in 2012 by 3.5%, which indicates the enormous contribution that he made to the development of this company.
Since in October 2013 Igor Komarov, who was previously the president of AvtoVAZ, leaves his post, Bu Anderson becomes one of the main contenders for this position. After some negotiations, it was decided that this post will be occupied by Bu Anderson. VAZ was now under its full control, so it became much easier for him to develop this enterprise. He was approved by the board of directors on November 5, and took office on January 13, 2014. He will remain the head of AvtoVAZ for the next 3 years, it is in this period that the president of the company will be re-elected.
Incident with one of the deputies
Some time later, after Bu Anderson became president of AvtoVAZ, he had an unpleasant story related to Vladimir Bokk, one of the managers of the Volzhsky plant workshop. The fact is that when the president of the company did an inspection, he did not like the fact that workers smoke near their jobs and leave cigarette butts there. He expressed dissatisfaction with Vladimir Bokk, who did not want to listen to his opinion, after which there was a verbal skirmish, as a result of which Bu Anderson had a fight with Bokk. The plant workers did not comment on this, so the true picture of what happened is very blurry. Bu Anderson was very upset by such an unpleasant incident. The family supported him, and this yielded results: in a couple of days he completely recovered from what had happened.
Awards and titles
- In 2012, Bo Anderson became Honorary Consul of Sweden in Nizhny Novgorod.
- In the same year, he received the “Outstanding Achievements” award presented to him by Automotive Supply Chain magazine for the successes that he achieved during the restoration of the GAZ Group enterprise.
- In June 2013, he became an honorary citizen of Nizhny Novgorod. He was awarded this title for his enormous contribution to the city’s economy, the reforms carried out at the Gorky Automobile Plant, and the strengthening of his authority among other Russian enterprises.
- He was recognized as the "Best Leader of 2010" in the Russian automotive industry at the international forum in memory of Adam Smith.
