Many residents of private houses are engaged in poultry farming at home. This is quite logical and understandable - there is a bird and home eggs. That's just most often simple laying hens are not particularly fleshy. And agricultural entrepreneurs keep two types of chickens - laying hens and broilers. The first "go" for eggs, the second - for meat. Fortunately, kokhinkhing chickens from Vietnam are gaining popularity. Why fortunately? There are a number of reasons.
Why they?
The thing is that cochinhin chickens have unique properties compared to their counterparts. Firstly, they are ideal for breeding for meat. The weight of an adult chicken carcass is on average about 4.5 kg of pure meat. Secondly, kokhinkhin-hens rush very well, which means they are excellent for those entrepreneurs who are aimed at high egg production in birds. Moreover, this breed has a very strongly developed instinct for egg incubation.
Initially, kokhinkhin hens were exclusively decorative breed. That is, they were not intended for agricultural breeding. At the moment, this trend is starting to change. More and more private entrepreneurs with small farms give their preference to this particular breed.
Appearance
Mostly decorative breed has become due to its
appearance. Kokhinkhin-chickens are stocky, with a wide chest, thick plumage, powerful underfur. The wings are rather high set, short legs are covered with down. However, this does not allow them to be kept in the cold. Moreover, the aviary where the bird is kept must be clean and dry. Excessive moisture provides fertile ground for the appearance of parasites that cause inconvenience and pain to birds. Kokhinkhin-hens, the photos of which are presented here, received a diverse color - it can be birds with black plumage or red, with white or yellowish. At the same time, the black plumage should be with a greenish tint - this color is the most valuable as a decorative breed. In chickens, let us assume a red color with a noble yellow or brown tint. All other colors of the pen are considered "substandard." On the other hand, if you breed the breed for meat, the color has absolutely no value, it does not affect the weight of the individuals.
Conditions of detention
Kokhinkhin-chickens are calm and sedate.
They do not fly and do not try because of their heavy weight, so the fence can be a meter high. If the aviary is large, then individuals of this breed become active, walk a lot, eat well. It is better to keep females and males separately from each other so that the plumage does not deteriorate during their mating. If the purpose of breeding is not the aesthetic beauty of the breed, then coexistence of heterosexual individuals in the same enclosure is allowed. Feed is better to choose soft, enriched with vitamins and minerals. From greens, horseradish, cabbage, radish and turnip leaves are welcome. Chicks in four months of life require a special diet rich in protein. It helps the rapid development of birds. In addition, the future plumage depends on the amount of protein in the diet. After four months, the protein is cut back in output, which allows the bird to naturally develop and grow normally.
