In Kharkov on April 15, 1987, the future Olympic medalist Gvozdik Alexander was born.

The beginning of sports life

His father told him from early childhood that boxing is the best sport for men. Despite this, kickboxing became the first sport in Alexander’s life. But he did not stay there long and after six months left the training. When he was 10 years old, he began attending the training of the famous boxing trainer Alexander Volodchenko at the Metalist club.

The first big success in the boxing ring was the victory in the boxing championship among students in 2008. Starting next year, Carnation was the undisputed champion in his weight category and won many times in various competitions in the country. After winning the Ukrainian championships, in 2010 I decided to participate in the European Championship. He managed to win these competitions, which added popularity to the young athlete.

Olympic Games brought popularity

Carnation Alexander continued to work hard and in 2012 he was selected to participate in the Olympic Games. Despite the bright victories, he could only reach the semifinals and, losing to the boxer from Kazakhstan, took the bronze award.

Professional career

The last victory at the amateur competitions for the boxer was the victory at the summer Universiade in 2013, which was held in the city of Kazan.

In the professional ring, Gvozdik, Alexander is invincible today. Of the five battles, all were won, and four of them were held with representatives of the United States. Boxing experts call Alexander Gvozdik's fights interesting, but too short to fully appreciate all his skill.

The fight, which was held in Las Vegas, became a debut in the professional ring for the Ukrainian athlete. Alexander looked more athletic than his opponent. Montoya was struck by a knockout blow to the right and ended up on the ring floor in the first round.

The second fight was a tough fight with Michael Gbenga. Victory did not go as easily as in the first match. Boxers walked the entire allotted distance in six rounds. All three judges gave victory to the Ukrainian with a score of 60:54. The audience did not object to this, as the Ukrainian confidently beat the opponent.

Other victories

Carnation Alexander won the third fight by knockout in the fifth round. The victim was Lamont Williams. Already in the second round, after a blow from the left hand from Alexander, Williams was knocked down. In the fifth round, Gvozdik confirmed his superiority and knocked out an opponent.

The next victory for Alexander was the fourth fight in the professional ring against Otis Griffin. The rival twice appeared on the ring floor in the sixth round after he missed powerful blows to the hull from the Ukrainian boxer, and the American team decided to end the fight by technical knockout.

Carnation Alexander spent the last fight in his professional career in Bloomfield (USA) against Corey Cummings. The fight was especially spectacular and full of bright moments. Despite the good shape of the American boxer, already in the second round he managed to fall into the ring three times. It looked like beating a baby.

Alexander was supposed to meet in the ring with Rowland Bryant, a boxer from the United States, April 11, 2015. Experts from the world of boxing were waiting for this fight because of the entertainment that two fighters could present to the audience. The fight was supposed to take place in Texas, USA. But Rowland claimed the injury he received while preparing for the battle. The fight was postponed indefinitely.
