In the north, it passes into Kuzhozero, and in the south by a channel connected to Pavshinsky Lake.

Various types of fish are found in the reservoir: perch, roach, carp, pike, bream, crucian carp, pike perch, vendace, burbot, ruff, and ide. Water has a neutral level of acidity and is saturated with oxygen molecules. Organic content is increased, and visibility under water is about two meters.

The highest part of the coast is the south. It is dominated by hilly terrain with heights of up to 35 meters. In other areas, the coast is low, slightly hilly. The coastline is winding, and the entrance to the water is gentle. The shores are piled with stones, sand, and sometimes swampy. In the coastal zone, the bottom is sandy and rocky, and deeper than two meters - silty, hollow with pits, silted.

The most interesting objects at the bottom are ferromanganese nodules located at a maximum depth (16 m), having the appearance of peas or beans, as well as powdery ore near the northwest coast.

There is not much vegetation in the lake. It is represented by reeds, chytin, reeds, horsetail, Elodea, water lilies, cattail, sedges and other types of plants. Blue-green algae live in the water itself. Because of them, flowering of the reservoir is observed every year. In addition to them, here you can find green, golden, euglena and cryptophytic algae.

Zooplankton is present in water in a small amount. Basically, they are crustaceans - cladocera (cladocerans) and cyclops. In the bottom substrate, mollusks, small-worm worms, mosquito bells, nematodes, etc.

Near the lake, sites of ancient people of the Neolithic and Bronze Age were discovered.

The recreation center is located in the village of Loza (approximately 60 km from the city). These are modern buildings on the lake. Buildings fit moderately into the local landscape.
