Quality control

To effectively manage the enterprise, it is necessary to constantly improve the quality of work of its employees - this is the basic principle of each head of a more or less large company. But today, the high quality of products or services does not guarantee that this company will become a leader among their own kind, because current consumers are accustomed to the fact that quality is a prerequisite for production. However, it is it that helps a particular brand to become a brand. Today, every serious company carries out quality management, but from the point of view of a new definition of this concept. It is based on the so-called “right to price”, that is, the desire of the buyer to purchase high-quality goods at the lowest cost, on the one hand, and the desire of the manufacturer or supplier to create a high-quality, competitive product at the lowest cost - on the other hand.

Quality management is based on several basic principles. First of all, this is a systematic and comprehensive increase in the quality characteristics of products and the work of employees of companies and factories at all stages of production. Moreover, for many firms, such a system has become a way of life and a way of thinking. The second principle is the so-called “80/20 rule”. It acts quite simply. It is necessary to eliminate 20% of significant gaps in terms of product quality, and this will ensure that the organization receives 80% of the planned revenues. VUK (or comprehensive quality management) consists in the comprehensive improvement of the enterprise and the promotion of "initiative from below."

Another principle of improving production processes and the final result is the magic phrase “Six Sigma”, which means a completely new approach, focused not on eliminating the defects that have arisen, but on preventing their occurrence. The competent managers in charge of quality management are aware of the magic power of the service-to-profit chain, that is, of the pattern when, by increasing the level of service, an enterprise inevitably raises its income level.

Exemplary in this regard is the Japanese model of quality management , which provides for universal quality control by every Japanese worker. The participation of each employee in improving the quality of production, providing consumer services is one of the main features of the Japanese system. Other features are the training and professional development of personnel in matters of improving quality indicators, the implementation of the activities of quality circles, the verification and evaluation of the activities of controllers, the use of statistical methods in work, and the raising of the quality control program to the national level. And today, the Japanese system is undergoing careful study by experts and business owners in other countries.

What happens if a quality system (a unity of resources and processes that are necessary to improve goods and services) fails? In the best case, the consignment of defective goods is returned back to the enterprise, as has happened more than once with AvtoVAZ and Toyota cars, and the enterprise suffers huge losses through the fault of the one who overlooked and missed the marriage. In the worst case, for example, with the same cars, such a purchase could cost a person who bought a new car life. Apple is also not sinless in this regard. The batch of laptop batteries she released had the property to swell after some time of use. And in many household appliances, batteries have a tendency to explode. This should not be. And we would not know such cases if manufacturers had everything in order with the quality system.
