It was immediately evident from the boy that in the future he would achieve considerable success in this sport. Nikita had some kind of boxing instinct - not knowing either the technique or the stance, he still boxed well and kept his breath. All these inclinations for boxing, clearly hinted that you need to start training seriously.

At the age of 12, the guy moved to Odintsovo in order to continue training, but with more eminent masters. Here he managed to reach the final battle, where he was expected by the Irishman Joe Ward. The fight turned out to be very difficult for both athletes, however, the Russian boxer lost with a score of 12-20. Having received a silver medal at the European Championships, Nikita Ivanov was awarded the title of international master of sports in Russia.

In 2012, Ivanov again took part in the Russian boxing championship and took second place, losing to the young and promising fighter Dmitry Bivol in the final. After that, he began to prepare for the qualifications for the European Championship, which was held in Minsk in 2013. Once in the tournament, Nikita confidently and quickly reached the final stage, where he reclassified his opponent and won a gold medal. This achievement was the most significant in his career.
