A few years ago, Eiser presented to the public a rather interesting and versatile Aspire 52xx series. Individual models have received many laudations and were relatively warmly received.
The hero of today's review is the Acer Aspire 5250 laptop. The characteristics, advantages and disadvantages of the model, as well as the opinions of specialists along with the feedback from the device owners are presented in the article.
Design
The appearance of the updated line is not much different from its predecessor. The brand logo of the brand, which was located in the middle of the lid, is now in the corner and looks more like a label than a logo.
Older models had next to the shutdown button LED indicators for the network and hard drive, which are no longer on the new Acer Aspire 5250. Many owners are indignant about this in their reviews, because now, to understand whether the system is busy or not, you have to listen to the “rustling” of the hard drive.
The Acer Aspire 5250 has become less durable, which can be attributed to both the chassis and the display cover. To a large extent, the matte surface in a textured style was pleased, on which it is difficult to leave fingerprints. It is also worth noting the perfectly balanced loops that hold the device in any position convenient for the user. The rest is the same old Aspire we are used to.
Interfaces
The ports on the Acer Aspire 5250 are pretty poor. Instead of the usual HDMI port from the past rulers, an empty place flaunts, it is good that the USB ports are left without quantitative changes, there are also 3 of them. Owners in their reviews are somewhat dissatisfied with the location of the ports on the left side: for left-handed users, this may be good, but for the majority of users it interferes with working with the mouse.
Well, if you decide to connect a variety of peripherals, then be prepared for cables from the Acer Aspire 5250 that are visible and sticking out in all directions. Reviews of the device have repeatedly noted a shortage of designers who unintentionally arranged the VGA output and USB interfaces on one side.
Input Devices
The keyboard is more or less responsive, but there are noticeable dips around the Enter key. Also, users note in their reviews the size of the navigation keys is too small. People with thumbs are very uncomfortable, and simple female fingers sometimes press two keys at once.
The touchpad turned out to be quite sensible and responsive with a smooth and pleasant to the touch surface. There are no management problems, so there are no critical comments on this item.
Display
The device is equipped with a glossy display (1366 x 768 pixels) with a TN matrix. And this means that the laptop’s viewing angles are clearly not a strong point: watching a movie or looking through photos with friends becomes a problem, and you won’t be able to work with such a screen in the sun. Also, many owners note in their reviews the presence of unpleasant glare, and the only place where you can comfortably sit behind the device is a room with daylight.
Offline work
In the standard energy-saving mode, with the network connected and watching the video, the laptop will last no more than four hours. In principle, a good time for a budget model, given that the battery is fully charged in just an hour and a half.
