Building a successful football career with current sports and life realities is not an easy task. In the way of the magicians of the ball, injuries, scandals, or simply the team’s unsuccessful choice often arise, as a result of which they cannot really open up and win anything meaningful. One such example would be the Dutch soccer giant, Manchester United star, and Robin Van Persie of the Netherlands.
Childhood
Robin's life story begins on August 6, 1983. It was on this day in the Dutch city of Rotterdam that in one happy family there was one little man more. However, the family idyll was interrupted three years later, when the boy's parents decided to divorce. By court order, Robin was forced to leave his mother and live with his father, while his two sisters stayed with his mother. From this moment in the life of the future football player dark colors prevailed.
He was brought up in one of the most disadvantaged areas of Rotterdam, and therefore, as often happens, he gradually became a problem child. From year to year, the character became more violent, and who knows what would happen if his father did not decide to send Robin to the football academy. In the hometown of Van Persie, there were immediately three football clubs. The choice fell on the Excelsior Academy.
First football steps, or squabulous character
The guy was growing up, he gradually showed the makings of an interesting football player, but problems with his character still haunted him, as a result of which, after a quarrel with the coach, the young man pointed to the door. The problematic, but at the same time talented football player was sheltered by the worst enemy of the “greens” “Faynord”.
Step by step, training after training, the football player Van Persie won the confidence of the coach and began to play enough for the position of the main center forward. At the age of 19, he was recognized as the best young player in the Dutch championship. For two years in the “Feynord” striker scored 14 goals, but he was not destined to improve the scorers. The guilt was again made manifest by the character. A rising soccer star has fallen out with head coach Bert Van Marwijk. Finding himself out of favor, Van Persie was exiled to double. However, this time he also came out of the water dry, since the London Arsenal had been monitoring the young talent for a year now. The bottom line is an easy gunners deal for just under £ 3 million.
New challenge
At foggy Albion, the Dutch player did not go well at first. He was in the shadow of the then leaders of the attack, Thierry Henry and Denis Berkamp. Rare substitution matches in the championship of England were replaced by cup meetings held from bell to bell. Scandal
A few days later, the media space, and at the same time the life of Robin, was broken by a scandal by a bomb. The then Miss Holland accused the football player of sexual harassment with aggravating circumstances. Interrogations were conducted for several weeks, during which the footballer was imprisoned. However, having failed to collect a significant evidence base, the investigators were forced to close the case for lack of evidence. It should be noted that the wife of Van Persie (the wedding in Moroccan Bukhra took place in 2004) did not doubt her husband for a second, she always visited him in prison.
This incident left an indelible mark on the football player’s soul. According to the assurances of many of Robin’s entourage, he became much more restrained in emotional terms, found a certain balance. According to the footballer himself, after such an unpleasant incident, he realized that any oversight could ruin his life, that he was literally walking on the edge.
The next year for “Peach”, as many fans from the post-Soviet space lovingly call it, was immediately marked by two joyful events: the birth of a son and participation in the world football championship, in which he did not appear in any match from the first minutes, but managed to distinguish yourself once.
A series of injuries and chances in the national team
Further, in the career of a football player, a series of injuries began, knocking him out of the game for a rather long time. On the field, he really and for a long time appeared only a few months before the start of Euro 2008. The season at Arsenal was lost, but there was a chance to cling to the national team, and he did not miss it.
At the European Championship, Van Persie played in several positions, starting with the central striker and ending with a kind of attacking playmaker. The Netherlands team at this tournament appeared the most striking team. Featuring excellent attacking football, they went through the group stage in one breath, helped by two goals from Robin Van Persie. However, in the next match, the Dutch unexpectedly stumbled. The team has not seen trophies for more than five years, and the logical result was a massive outflow of leaders to other clubs. Robin stayed and became captain.
At the same time, the Netherlands national team triumphantly went through the football fields of South Africa at the World Cup, winning silver and losing only to Spain in the tournament finals. Not the last role in this success was played by Robin Van Persie.
Recognition of the best player and the transition to the camp of the worst enemy
In the 2011-2012 season, the club, led by Van Persie, burst in, sweeping everything in its path, and the newly-minted captain in 15 starting matches accumulated 15 goals. At the end of the season, Arsenal again lost the champion cup, but the forward was recognized as the best player in the English championship.
The next year, the athlete met already at the camp of Manchester United. Van Persie was bought by the Mancunnians for 24 million pounds. And in the first season, the striker got a champion medal and a solid number of goals in his account. With the arrival of David Moyes as head coach, the striker began to have problems. It is likely that he will return to the former club. It remains only to wait. We may soon find out whether the return of the prodigal son will take place with the championship “ring”.
